Raelyn mewled, shifting in the strong arms of the Alpha she slept in bed with. Now that she was mated with Jerald, she and the twins were staying in the Captain's Suite. She purred against the sheets, so soft and warm. Not to mention, the alpha’s warmth was better than anything sheets could offer.
She rested her hand on his left peck. Her head fit comfortably on his right. Her lips curled into a wide smile as she listened to his heartbeat and watched the rise and fall of his chest. She couldn’t help but be a little vain and assume the reason for his heart racing was her.
“Good Morning, Luna.”
“W-Who’s there?” She shot up. Her eyes scanned for any other persons in the room.
“In here, Luna.”
She looked up at her forehead. “H-Here?”
“Yes, in here. I’m in your mind.” The voice chuckled.
“What… what are you?” she asked, slightly terrified of the answer.
“I’m the Alpha’s wolf. I’m the one in control when his eyes go blue,” he explained. “If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. It’s the wolf’s job to help non-wolf Lunas adjust.”
“I thought I wouldn’t hear voices in my head because of what Jerald did?” she asked, trying to wrap her head around this startling new development.
“That doesn’t apply to the Alpha’s wolf,” he replied. “You have so much to learn, Luna.”
“Another question,” she began as her voice grew quiet, “do you know everyone on this ship?”
“Yes, Luna, I do. The Alpha and his wolf are always aware of everyone in and near the pack for protection and safety.”
“Is… is my ex on the ship?” She gulped. Her body shook at the thought that she might have been in the same room with him without her even knowing. And what about her kids? Had he seen them?
“Luna… he-”
“Is he on the ship?” she asked again.
“Yes, Luna, he’s on the ship.” He whimpered.
“Wh-Where is he?” She frantically looked around the room, fear and worry clawing in her throat.
“Luna, please don't do that, the alpha wants you to begin a new chapter in your life with him. He wants you to forget all the pain your ex caused and replace it with loving memories of him.”
“B-But…” Her stuttering stopped when Jerald groaned, stroking her hair.
“Shh… shh… mi alma , don’t worry. Your wolf is here to protect you and the pups,” Jerald whispered, his eyes still closed. “Your ex isn’t coming anywhere near you or the twins.”
“How do you know-”
“Rae, once wolves find their mate they never lose them, especially wolves who have lost a mate before. They never stop protecting and loving them.” He smiled, wiping the tears away. “Don't cry, I’m here. The kids are here. Everyone’s here.”
