Why does life keep taking and taking from you?
You sniffle, wiping away a tear as you walk down the colorless sidewalk. The rain softly drizzles, hitting your bare arms as you shiver and try to keep yourself together. It's been a week since your mother passed away, but it still hurts just as bad as it did on the first day. Your best friend, Yoongi, has been by your side the entire time. You're so grateful for him, but tonight he said he wasn't available, something about work. So, here you are, about to enter your favorite park... alone.
It's the same park your mother took you to a lot as a kid. The memories come back strong as you walk inside. Obviously no one's here because A) it's night and B) it's raining, but you don't care. You instinctively walk to the swings, sitting on the closest one and not caring that it's wet. You let your tears fall - again, not really caring if anyone sees. You can just blame it on the rain if you really wanted to.
You look up and softly smile. Well, at least you're not crying alone. Your mother meant everything to you. Literally everything, and she died from a heart attack way too soon. She deserved at least another ten years, if not more. She was such a kind and brave woman, and she brought you up to be just like her. That's what Yoongi said, anyway. He said she never died, she still lives... in you. Gosh you're so grateful for that man. The man you've known since childhood. The man you've had a crush on for years. The only one who understands you.
You frown, kicking at the mud. You hope he's okay. You really do, you hope he's still taking care of himself. Whenever you're really sad and down, he has a tendency to forget about himself and make sure you're okay. You didn't expect the cold man to have such a soft heart deep down, but you're grateful he's shown it to you. You're like his rock, and he's yours. No matter what you have each other's backs. Always.
You're about to drift further into your thoughts when you see a figure dashing towards you. You narrow your eyes, trying to make out who it could be, but you can't, the rain is too much. You gulp, preparing to stand and run away when you hear him shouting your name. He looks to be holding something in his hand, a hoodie or something, and his voice sounds familiar. No... that can't be Yoongi, can it? How did he know you'd be here? Why is he not at work like he said he was?
"Y/N what are you doing, you'll catch a cold," the man that is indeed Yoongi says, kneeling in front of you.
"Y-Yoongi?" you question, eyes wide as your teeth clatter together. The cold was an afterthought to you, but now since Yoongi is bringing you back to reality, you realize the harsh conditions.
"Here, put this on before you freeze to death. Come on, let's get you home," he whispers, handing you one of his favorite hoodies.
"You brought this for me?" you ask, bewildered.
"Of course. I know you better than anyone L/N. I knew your dumbass would come out here in the cold without a jacket."
You softly laugh, grateful for his presence as you stand and throw his hoodie on. It smells like him, not like that's anything new. You have a bunch of his hoodies. He never asked for them back, and he refused them even when you held them out to him. So you wear them all the time, his wardrobe is pretty much yours. Even though you're used to his scent, it still boggles your mind and brings you a sense of comfort.
He wraps his arm around your shoulder. "Come on, let's get home," he coos, but you shake your head.
"I don't want to go home..."
"My place?" he asks, and you smile.
"Sure."
"I'll put on a movie and some popcorn, does that sound good?"
