A/N: Hey guys, Raven here. I just felt like writing a Yoongi story since I'm on a Yoongi kick. Mostly because of Heartless, my Yoongi x reader story for those who don't know. I just wrote a smut for Yoongi in that book, so this one will be cute and fluffy. I hope you enjoy!

Going to the party was the last thing she wanted, but she didn't have much choice. The LED lights overhead were flashing, her face illuminated by the soft glow they produced. She wasn't sure what to think or say, but she knew one thing: she wanted to get this over with.

Being in college meant that she had to do a shit ton of work she didn't want to do. Same with people. She had to put up with people she didn't care about. People she hated, even. But she couldn't let that get to her. She was there strictly for appearances. Many of her classmates said this party was the best. It was like they would judge her if she didn't go. It was a classic celebration for midterms being over. Nearly every student in her dorm community was here. That didn't sound like much, but her campus was so huge that they had 5 separate communities of dorms that could hold over a thousand people. There had to be well over a 100 people here at least. It made sense, the venue was huge, but how was she supposed to have fun if everyone was already crowded together into their cliques?

The flashing lights kept going even though she despised them. Another thing she couldn't control. So, she strolled through the the halls of the enormous venue. Some rich kids banded together and rented it out. That was always how it was. The rich kids threw the best parties, right? She personally preferred to stay in with her roommate, watching movies with their projector. They'd always let the projection shine against the white wall, the image crystal clear despite not being on a TV or other proper screen. It wasn't much, but it worked for them.

The bar was filled to the brim with students grabbing scarlet cups. The classic plastic cups you'd see at any party. It didn't phase her one bit even though she wasn't accustomed to parties. She went to one her entire college career. Granted, she was only on her third semester, but that was still an academic year and a quarter.

Knowing that she wasn't getting a drink anytime soon, she shifted her legs and went closer to the front gates. It was much quieter out there. She literally went outside just to escape the madness. Parties and parties and more parties. College. Work. Internships she had to start applying for. She wanted a head start, more opportunities and a higher chance she'd get a job fresh out of college. But the stress...

The night sky glimmered on her face as she fell deeper into her thoughts. What was there to think? What else did she have left? She should leave, but she wanted to ensure that her classmates saw her face. So, she'd wander the venue once or twice more before departing with an Uber. That was a lot of money for one night, but she didn't care. Her roommate decided against going, and she didn't blame the poor introverted girl.

The point was, she was alone. Alone at night outside a party venue, planning to take an Uber home also alone. Many would view her as foolish. And yeah, she probably was, but she didn't care that much anymore. She never encountered an issue with any Uber drivers, not to mention she knew the basics of self-defense. There was-

"You look oddly cryptic."

She turned her head to eye the man approaching her. He had no drink in his hands much to her surprise. Just him and his shabby clothes. Meanwhile she felt overdressed wearing a dress that was short but hugged her body well. "Shall I recite some Edgar Allan Poe to make it even worse?" she asked, raising a single brow.

"Only if it's The Raven, that was my crack back in high school," he replied, leaning against the wall. He was careful not to come too close, something she deeply appreciated.

"Is there something you needed, or are you out here to get a breather like me?"

There were a few other students around, but they were far out of earshot. This place was so massive that the front yard seemed able to host 50 people. Everyone preferred being inside where the drinks, food, and music was, but the ones smoking were outdoors. Or most of them, anyway. People often didn't have consideration and smoked inside too. She could at least admire the ones who took it outside.

"A breather. I came here with one of my friends and he completely disappeared," he said, keeping the back of his head against the wall.

She observed him, admiring his sharp side profile and pale skin the moonlight only made stand out more. His eyes were half-closed, most likely due to his tiredness that was obvious thanks to the bags under his eyes. Babysitting a friend at a party was a difficult task. She couldn't blame him for leaving the main venue.

"Do I get the honor of knowing your name?"

He turned to her, their eyes locking. "Only if I get the honor of knowing yours."

She gave his shoulder a nudge, "That isn't how it works. You first pretty boy."

"Oh I'm pretty now, am I?" Her eyes rolled, him chuckling. "Honestly, I normally don't have this kind of confidence."

"I'd say. Your face is red." He went still, covering the back of his neck immediately. She chuckled, shaking her head. "I was joking, but nice to know that I caught you in the act. Nervous?"

"How can I not be when a gorgeous girl is next to me." Her body froze, him noticing and maintaining his distance to respect her boundaries. "Min Yoongi. It's nice to meet you."

"Y/n L/n, it's nice to meet you too." They shook hands, Y/n going back to her side and sighing. He seemed nice, but she wasn't very trusting of people she met at parties. They were either drunk or wanted to get her drunk. So far he was neither, but she didn't want to assume. Not yet.

"You seem lonely," he said. She stared at him, but before she could ask what he meant, he kept speaking. "Not physically. I mean mentally. When's the last time you've... talked."

When she went to answer, she stopped herself. He didn't mean talk in a casual manner. He meant emotionally. Venting out things that were stressing her, or mentioning an inconvenience in her day. She didn't know the answer. And when he saw her eyes, he knew that she didn't. It was an instant connection that had her brain buzzing, her heart jolting at the very prospect that someone understood her without even needing to speak.

"Miss L/n, you're not alone. You never are, and I hope you know that. There's always a short boy with sleeping issues around the corner."

She chuckled, scooting a bit closer to him. "And if I asked him to walk with me, what do you think he'd say?"

Yoongi took a risk, closing the little distance between them and taking her hand. She entwined her fingers with his, the two mentally agreeing that they finally found someone who understood. Understood even the most trivial things. She wondered where their friendship could go. If they gained a friendship, that was. But... looking into his eyes? Y/n smiled and pulled him towards the gates. She wasn't worried at all. Then, Yoongi laughed.

"Woah wait, I never said I'd say yes!"

A/N: Just a cute, short chapter. I hope you liked it!
