"You're kidding me. He sent you that text?" I asked as Lydia showed me the text Jackson sent. She nodded, sipping on her iced coffee. "That's great then. Tomorrow, you pull a reverse card and dump him publicly instead. And I don't know, say you sold his key to some random. He literally sucks," I said.

"He's been being incredibly nice to me lately," Allison muttered. I arched an eyebrow at her. She looked at her food, picking at it. "And we kind of almost kissed yesterday. But I told him it was the full moon," she laughed looking at me. My eyes widened for a moment before I played along and chuckled.

"Yaaa, like Mercury in retrograde? I hear that can make people crazy," I offered. She nodded, and I realized she seemed to be scrutinizing me. Lydia went to go get food, and I looked at her for a second. "Is everything okay? Did you want to ask me something?" I asked. Her eyes widened, and she touched her necklace.

"Oh- uh, no!" She said quickly. I nodded at her necklace.

"Cute, that's the Le Béte thing right?" I asked. She nodded, seemingly surprised I remembered.

"Supposedly, my ancestors were hunters who took down beasts," she said. I gave her an impressed look.

"Beasts?" I asked, taking a sip of my coffee.

"Werewolves, among other things," she said sternly. I quirked an eyebrow at her again.

"Werewolves? Seriously? You're starting to sound like Jackson, careful Allison," I joked. She looked at me confused.

"He's been really weird to me lately, asking me all sorts of things about this thing called lycanthropy," I said, playing dumb. I twisted a h/c lock around my finger. "I told him to google it, but whatever I found for him wasn't right. Although, what can be right when it comes to humanish-dogs, am I right?" I giggled. She nodded, laughing my comment off.

"Yea, that's crazy. Listen, Y/n, I'm really glad you came today. I feel so much better," she said. I nodded, patting her hand. I got a phone call and I excused myself whispering: "Sorry, it's Stiles."

"Hello?" I said.

"Y/n, where are you?" It was Scott. I rolled my eyes.

"On a girl's day, why?"

"A girl's da- You haven't spent one day resting," he scolded. I hear Stiles in the background.

"Y/n? Y/n, why aren't you here? We left you this morning so you could sleep. Where are you? I'll come get you," he said quickly. I rolled my eyes.

"I'll see you guys later," I said hanging up. I go back to the food court in the mall to see that Lydia and Allison were no where to be seen. I let out a huff. Of course. I thought to myself, as I called Lydia's cell. I didn't hear anything nearby, and she didn't answer. I dialed Stiles' number. He picked up on the second ring.

"Back so soon?" I could hear him smirking. I heard mumbling in the background, and I heard Stiles whisper something.

"Hey, so I've been abandoned. I'm at the mall, could I get that ride you were offering?" I asked quietly. I hear his car start within a minute.

"I'll be there in five."

"Can you tell me again why you got your dad drunk and why you left him home alone?" I asked, fairly annoyed with the circumstance. Stiles sighed, drumming his fingers along the steering wheel. I nudged his arm.

"Well, first, I don't know if he's drunk yet. Second, information. Why else?" He said back. He seemed moderately annoyed as well. I stared out the window.

"That seems not great, but okay," I say quietly. He doesn't respond and I look over at him. "What's the matter?" I ask. He looks over at me.

"You look terrible," he said. I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear self consciously. "You were supposed to stay home today," he amends.
