"So yea— It just showed up there on my key ring this morning. I asked my dad if he put it there, but he said he didn't know anything about it," Stiles explained to Scott and I.
"It's just a key, right?" He asked. Stiles shrugged.
"Yeah, but it's not mine. And I don't know it got there, or what it's for," Stiles said. A guy approached us, taking my hand.
"You want to get your body painted?" The guy asked flirtatiously.
"You want to leave so we can figure it out?" Scott asked, looking over at me as I narrowed my eyebrows at the guy. A woman approached me, painting part of my face, and my collar bones and arms. The guy put his hands on my waist, and I saw a hand grab the guys wrist.
"It can wait," Stiles said, glaring at the guy. He put his hands up and backed off. I turned back to Stiles with a grin.
"Jealous?" I murmured. He puffed out his lips, wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling me into him. I stood with his leg between mine. I bit my lip. "I'll take that as a yes," I said. I ran my fingers through his hair, as I saw Kira drag Scott away. Stiles kissed my neck, and then my chin, and then the corners of my lips. I chuckled, wiping my thumb over his lips.
"What is it?" He demanded with a smile, wanting to know the joke. I pulled him over to the body paint and finger painted some over his face and clothes. We went out onto the dance floor, and I grabbed a beer from one of the coolers. I offered it to Stiles as we danced.
"Do you have a bottle opener?" I yelled over the music. He nodded, and I spun around, dancing with the beer in the air. Stiles held my waist against his own, and I swayed around on him. He got distracted for a moment, forgetting the bottle opener. I felt his mouth near my ear.
"Y/n," he warned in a husky voice. I turned my head towards him a little, and he licked his lower lip, shaking his head. "You always have to do this when we're not alone," he murmured, running his hands down my sides. My breath caught in my throat as his hand gripped my thigh. I smiled, and he leaned over, kissing my lips. I put my one hand up to his jawline, holding his face in my hands as I kissed him back.
"We could, y'know, get out of here?" I said against his lips. He nodded, and we backed away towards the wall. Stiles lead me towards the door when his keys dropped out of his pockets.
"Hey! Your key has phosphors on it. Look!" I said, holding the glowing key up. There was a finger print on either side. Stiles looked at me and then to the key.
"Remind me what phosphors are?" He asked. I racked my brain.
"Oh, they're any substance that luminesces. It's in your teeth, your fingernails, laundry detergent... It's also in this!" I said, wiping some of the paint off of his lips. He licked his lips and looked at me with a smile. "It reacts to the UV light— that's why it glows," I explained loudly. He nodded, and then looked at me confused.
"How would I get phosphors on my key?" He asked.
"Have you been handling chemicals?" I asked curiously, and then we stopped. His eyes widened, and he set the beer on a table.
"I need to go," he said seriously. I looked at him for a moment, the mood shifting to a not so nice serious one instead. He jogged off, and I shook my head out of my confusion.
"Wait— Stiles, wait!" I shouted, as I ran after him. By the time I made it through the crowd and outside, he was gone.

"Hey, it's been a little while since you've stayed at Stiles," Mom observed as she handed me a cup of coffee. I frowned.
"It's only been a couple of day," I said. She raised her eyebrows, and I sighed. "After the whole kidnapped thing, plus the side-effects from him nearly dying, as well as him being oddly distant— I'm doing what I can here," I muttered. She patted my back.
