Stiles and I stood on the rooftop of the hospital, clutching onto each other for dear life. Theo watched us with a slightly threatening gaze, as he took a step forward. Stiles moved out in front of me, as Theo put his hands up.

"I know what happened to Donovan. I know everything," Theo stated. His eyes locked on mine, and before I could stop him, Stiles was stalking towards him. He grabbed Theo's shirt, as I gasped in horror. This was not a fight that Stiles could win, and the last thing he needed was a torn trachea.

"You don't know anything," Stiles hissed.

"Stiles!" I called, and I walked towards them quickly. Stiles had Theo against a wall, and honestly I thought he was about to choke the lights out of the dude. I wrapped my hand around Stiles' bicep, and I tugged gently. My hands shook with anxiety, and I thought my body would melt because of how much it ached. "Stiles," I whispered again, breaking their little staring contest. His eyes flickered over to me, and he let Theo go. I tugged Stiles back, and we stood there, hand in hand. Theo took in a shaky breath as he continued.

"I was there. I was at the library... Malia found the book. She was texting us to see where you two were. She said Y/n was going to stay back with you at the library. I told her I was close. And when I got there, I heard the scaffolding come down..." Theo explained. My eyebrows furrowed, and I watched him for a moment. Something wasn't quite right about his story, and I saw Theo's eyes flicker almost unnoticeably over to me. Stiles tightened his grip on my hand, and I focused back on Theo.

"You saw him?" I asked. Theo took in a breath and looked at the ground.

"Just the body. I watched you come out the second time... I was gonna say something, but then I saw the cop car. And the body was gone. I don't know who took him. I only saw what you guys saw, and I didn't say anything because you didn't..." Theo said quietly. I pursed my lips, and I saw Stiles' soften. I made a mental note to explain to him that just because Theo wasn't a rat yet, didn't mean that he didn't have plans up his sleeve. If there was one thing I knew about Theo, it was that he was an internal rat. Sirens could be heard blaring towards us from the roads. Stiles looked back towards the edge of the roof.

"That's not an ambulance, is it?" Stiles muttered. Theo looked at me.

"We should get out of here," he advised. I frowned, looking down at the dead kid on the ground with his throat ripped out.

"Uh— We can't just leave him," I replied dryly. Theo paced for a moment as the sirens got even closer.

"Fine. All right, let's take him. Someone's stealing the bodies anyway, right? Here's our chance to find out who," Theo began. I walked over to Stiles, who had moved further away. I put my hands on his cheeks, turning his face towards me. He stared down at me with a disconnected expression. My frown deepened. "Guys, come on. We gotta do something," Theo pressed. Stiles put his hands over my hands before gently removing them from his face. He looked over to Theo.

"You killed him," Stiles said. Theo rolled his eyes before crossing his arms.

"In self-defense! He was going to kill you two and me. If we stay, we're either going to have to tell the truth, or we're going to need a pretty convincing story... It's your guys' choice— I'm not going to ask you to lie to Scott, Y/n," Theo said. My expression waved for a moment, and I felt Stiles' eyes on me. I gripped his hand tight, as I cleared my throat.

"It's up to you, Stiles. We're in this together," I said gently, turning to face him. His face relaxed, and he looked back to Theo. Theo's face had dropped into a grimace.

"What about your Dad, Stiles? I can't ask you to lie to him either," Theo said with an suspiciously sympathetic tone. I blinked at him with hesitation and frankly, annoyance. The fact that this dude now held all of the cards in his hand made me want to sleep his ass right now. Stiles squeezed my hand once, snapping me back to the present moment, before walking towards the body. He nodded at Theo to follow him, as they began to drag the body away from view.
