The previous day had not gone well. Stiles was sullen about something, Scott was almost murdered by Allison's mother, and both of them have been incredibly silent. To top it all off, I'm supposed to be helping with Lydia's birthday party, and she's also been a total oddball. Allison was out with the creepy kid Matt, and I felt like everything was just going the wrong way. So, I began with Allison.

"There's a good candid of you in there, too," I heard Matt say slyly. I walked down the sidewalk, towards what I recognized to be Allison's car. Scott gave me her location, so I could check in on her. I approached slowly, listening to the conversation with concern. "You can see some of the others, if you'd like. I mean, this-this tiny little screen doesn't really do it justice. But, uh, I could show you some on my computer," he said quietly.

"Oh, I would totally like that, but maybe another night," I heard Allison respond. Matt stood back for a moment, and I walked closer very quietly.

"Well, just for a few minutes?"

"It's getting kind of late," Allison muttered.

"It's the weekend," Matt pressured.

"I know, but I-- You know, I—"

"And, it's spring break. I mean, you don't have anything going on tomorrow... do you?" Matt said. I slammed my hand in between Matt's face and the door of the car.

"Actually, Matt, she does have something going on tomorrow. Why don't you scamper off?" I interrupted. Allison let out a small gasp, and Matt looked at me with shock. I'm not gonna lie, he could probably do a number on me, but I could still kick his ass. I quirked an eyebrow. "What? You don't know when a girl says no, it means no? You can't read the room?" I pressured, moving him back a couple of steps. He stumbled back, tripping on the curb and falling. I stared at him on the ground and turned around before he could say anything. I hopped in the car.

"Go, go go!" I said, and we whipped out of there. A few miles up, Allison pulled over and let out a sob. I reached over the driver's seat and hugged her tight. To be fair, I was also shaking from the confrontation. People are scary. Even if you're feeling super confident, people are still scary. I knew he was a creeper, but when Allison told me about all of the photos, I wanted to drive back and run him over.

"It was awful, Y/n. I—I feel so violated," she said quietly, putting a hand to her head. I pat her shoulder and nod towards the direction of my house.

"Call your dad and let him know you're staying with me. And no Scott will not be home tonight," I said. She nodded.

"That's probably for the best anyway... We got into last night at that stupid rave," she said. I nodded.

"I heard," I said quietly. We drove to my house, sneaking up the side of the roof and into my room. On my bed sat three bags from Macy's.

"I was wondering when you were going to be home," I heard from my bathroom. The light turned on, and I saw Lydia. She smiled at us.

"Hey! I was just gonna call you! Allison had a bad date, so I figured we could all hang," I offered. Lydia nodded. I tapped my foot on the ground, looking at the two awkwardly. Lydia was handing Allison dresses, and finally I sighed. "Alright, so— this year. Party? No party? Big party? Small party?" I asked.

"Alright, Dr. Seuss, of course there's going to be a party," Lydia said. I glanced over at Allison.

"Well, I just... We haven't seen any invites," Allison said. Lydia looked at the two of us briefly.

"It's the biggest party of the year, I don't need invites," Lydia snapped. We glanced at each other, and I shrugged. Lydia handed me a black dress that had a deep v neck. "Chiffon suits you, Y/n. Wear this. Stiles will love it," she said. My face flushed.
