Chapter 27

Amber P.O.V

        "WHAT THE HELL?" a loud voice that I knew all to well yelled. It was followed by hysterical laughter.

I shot straight up in my bed. It was my first night without a nightmare since that incident.

I looked to the right of me, and there was the chestnut-haired teen. all curled up on my pillow, with only his black checkered boxers on. I stared at him. Wasn't he just a cat? What did we do? I feel okay, so that means we didn't do anything, right?

No, he wasn't that kind of person. And besides, all I remeber was his soft kitty head snuggling against mine as I was swept into sleep.

"I can't believe they seahorsed!" Laughing Jack wheezed out, clutching his stomach. "The time finally came!"

Jeff said nothing, just marched over, with a twisted expression on his face.

"What the hell did you two do last night?" he growled.

I started to blush, but managed a blank face. "Nothing, I swear, he just came to comfort me last night, that's all."

"Then why is he almost naked?"

Uh..."He was just a cat!" I replied sleepily. What time is it? It's not even light outside!

Jeff rolled his eyes and yanked the covers off of both of us. I was fully clothed.

"See? Nothing. I'm not naked, so you can't accuse me." I said.

"Ah, what the hell?" Collin jumped up and crouched over, looking like a wild animal. He positioned himself in front of me, and gritted his teeth. A low rumbling sound could be heard coming from his throat.

"Ass in my face, Collin." I mumbled, blushing, rubbing my eyes.

He looked back at me. "Wha? Oh, sorry. Forgot I wasn't that beast like last night."

"WHAT?" Jeff roared.

"And so it's been declared! Collin has confirmed that they had seahorsed last night!" Jack cackled from the doorway. "And I thought you guys alread seahorsed. She's cheating! Ahahaha"

"What? Jack, you must be trippin balls again. But let me tell you, here is not the place. Can we wait till we get home?" Collin asked.

He's going home? No!

Jeff got up and grabbed Collin by the arm before I could, slinging him around into the wall, pinning him up against it.

"Why are you almost naked in my girlfriend's bed?" Jeff spat, he face turning red from anger.

"If you were her boyfriend, why weren't you in my place last night?" Collin smirked.

Jeff threw a fist at Collin, but Collin grabbed it and twisted his arm. Jeff let out a cry of pain before being slammed against the wall. They were snarling in eachother's faces, and not actually fighting. Laughing Jack came and peeled Collin off of Jeff before things could get worse.

"It really was an entertainment, but I'm afraid I have to stop it here." he said, pushing Collin onto the bed, and Jeff off the wall into the corner of the room.

"Good, cause I was about to shank a bitch." Jeff snorted.

We have to get out of here. I can't stay here.

I looked at Collin "When are you leaving?"

"Uh, I don't know?" he replied, turning to Laughing Jack, as if to ask him.

But Laughing Jack and Jeff were starting to go at eachother in an argument. I sighed.

"C'mon, I wanna show you something." Collin mumbled, as he dragged me off the bed and out of the room. Jeff and Jack didn't even notice.

~~~~~
After grabbing clothes for the both of us, Collin drug me out of the mansion. The sun was barely coming up, but he led me on.
To... a river?
But the way the sun came up, casting it's morning rays onto it made the river shine with it's beauty.
"Look at how beautiful the river is." he said.
"Yeah... it is pretty." I mumbled. Something was nagging at my brain, as if I was getting scared of the river. I was a large river, but it didn't look that deep.
"How deep do you think it is?" Collin echoed my thoughts.
"Hmm, doesn't look too deep. Let's see." I searched for a nearby stick and found one, extra long, and stuck it into the water. The stick went really far into the water.
When I pulled it back out, the water line was above our heads. Geez, it's pretty deep.
Then it hit me.
The water looked clean, but in fact it was very dirty as it found it's way in and around my body. I was struggling to get to the surface. It was so close, how did I get here?
Jeff.
This is that damned river Jeff kicked me into. Another reason to hate him.
"Amber...? Are you okay?" Collin asked.
I nodded. "This river... just... brings back bad memories. Jeff kicked me into once while I was unconscious."
"Damn, there goes another reason for me to hate him." Collin mumbled.
I pretended not to hear as we gazed at the river. I looked along the sides to see if my attempts of getting out were shown in the sides of the river. I decided not to look, though.
"C'mon, let's put our feet in." I said, taking off my shoes and sitting at the edge.
The water was cool, almost too cold, but Collin put his arm around me. I leaned my head on his shoulder as we watched the sun rise above the river.
