Chapter 7
Amber P.O.V
I blinked my eyes. I tried to remember my dream that I had.
It was about a man...in a suit, then he morphed into this crazy dog with a freakishly weird smile. Then the dog didn't change much, but it turned into a midget, who looked like a Link off of the Legend Of Zelda.
The tiny Link guy morphed into a dude wearing a blue mask...and i didn't think that he had any eyes. He was holding something in his hand, that I guess he was eating.
The thing in his hand that he was eating, turned into a teddy bear, and a little girl with a ripped up dress that looked straight out of the paranormal movies came into view. She laughed and the bear turned into some candy.
A freak clown pranced around, singing some song about children coming to him. The clown melted away and Jeff popped up, lunging at me...
I twitched.
What a weird dream. But they all seemed like family, as weird as it sounded...all together. I felt my face, to see if Jeff had visited me.
I turned to my window to see Jeff sitting on my window sill.
"Why are you here?!" I asked.
"A guy can't come and say hi?! And I have a present for you." he groaned.
"Nope. Guys can't climb through innocent people's windows and say hi to helpless girls." I said, grinning. "And what's the surprise?" I asked.
"You'll see." he said. Of course. And with that, he jumped out the window.
My mom burst into my room.
"Amber!" she said. She looked like she was getting ready to burst into tears. "Thank god your safe." she said.
I ran up to her and gave her a hug. "Mom? What is it? What happened?" I asked urgently.
"Come." she said. I followed her downstairs to the T.V.
Thirty Murdered last night. Investigators still can't find the criminal. Investigators say that they crimial climbs through windows, and all victims have smiles carved in their faces.
My heart started to beat wildly as the list of names was called out who were murdered.
Karin Hampton.
Tears came to my eyes as I stared at the name until it faded.
She was my only...friend. And I told her to die...
She killed herself.
Wait, she didn't commit suicide. She was murdered. Jeff...surprises...smiles in faces...
I ran to the bathroom, and cried.
"Amber, honey, it's okay. We'll make it through." my mom followed me, and hugged me.
"School...?" I asked. I needed to talk to someone.
"Only if you want." my mom replied.
I nodded and started to get ready.
"Does dad know?" I asked.
"Went to work early." she replied. I sighed.
I decided to skip breakfast, because I was in no mood to eat. I quickly grabbed my back pack, and headed out the door, making sure I had my pocket knife.
"AMBER BE CAREFUL!" my mom shouted.
"I WILL. BE SAFE." I called back and closed the door.
The lock clicked behind me.
I hustled my way to the bus stop, and I clicked my pocket knife open.
"ALRIGHT JEFF. COME THE FUCK OUT. WE NEED TO TALK." I shouted, my anger rising.
No response. I kept walking.
"So...how did you like your surprise?" a voice said behind me.
I spun around and gritted my teeth. There was Jeff, grinning like he won the lottery. He looked so...cute.
How dare I say. But he did.
HEY HEY HEY! my mind screamed. NO FALLING FOR KILLERS!
Ahh, fuck you. I told it.
It silenced as I tackled Jeff on the ground and attempted to stab him.
"WHY?!" I screamed at him.
"Keep you fucking voice down, before some one notices." Jeff said.
"OVER THIRTY PEOPLE?! ARE YOU INSANE?!" I asked.
"Obviously." he scoffed.
I sighed and tried to drive the knife into him. He was stronger than me, what was I thinking? A little puny girl trying to kill a serial killer?
Jeff grabbed my wrist and squeezed it. I looked into his eyes of darkness. And I remembered.
~~Flashback~~
I was riding in the bus, and I heard of the new kid that was in town, I was living in a different house than I am now, but it was in the same area, I still went to the same school.
I wondered about the new kid, how he would look, and maybe we could have something more than friends. But of course I was dreaming.
We were almost at the bus top when I saw two kids, about our age, running. One had lightish-brown hair with blue eyes, and the smaller child running beside him had the same hair with bright blue eyes. I wondered why they were running, but my thoughts were interrupted because there were people laying on the ground, bleeding.
People running away...people wounded...
Did those kids do a hit-n-run?
The following weekend, a younger kid had a party right next to our house. We heard there were a couple of murders during there party. The suspects were the same boys that were running from the bus stop. We found out the two boys names.
Jeff and Liu.
Liu said he murdered the kids. He was sent to Juvenile.
My mom and my dad freaked out when they had found out this information from the news, and we moved houses immediately. I remember Jeff, from back then. Before whatever happened to him. He was simply...
Beautiful.
~~End Of Flashback~~
If I remembered correctly about Jeff, that I 'loved him at first sight', why couldn't I bring myself to like him now?
I knew deep down that I really did like him, but I didn't want to admit it.
