Alice Prescott never meant to have a crush on her best friend. It just happened. She didn't mean to fall in love with the tall ginger jokester who made everything better. George never meant to fall in love with his best friend either. Everything wen...
"George, I want to keep our baby." Alice said softly. George immediately burst into a smile and stood up. Like a child he spun around with his arms in the air. "I'm gonna be a dad! I'm gonna be a dad!" George yelled happily which made Alice laugh. He pulled her to her feet and hugged her, spinning around before putting her down and kissing her. Soon after George's happiness went down and he got serious. "I'm gonna be a dad. Oh my god. Mum's gonna kill me." George said with a look of fear in his eyes. Alice smiled softly and assured him that it would be ok. George stopped panicking and his eyes lit up. He told Alice to sit and she did, confused as to what was happening. George went into his nightstand and pulled the box from its hiding spot. Alice looked at the small box curiously. George just looked at her and smiled before sitting next to her. "I was waiting for the right moment to do this and I realized that now is that moment. Alice I love you so much. I have since I saw you walk through those doors to get sorted. Your beautiful, friendly, smart, kind and overall your gonna be a great mum. You didn't see but mum slipped this to me at the Champions Feast. It was her promise ring that my dad gave her their sixth year. She said to give it to you at the right moment. Alice this is my promise to you. I will always support you and your decisions. I love you so much and I know we're young but I promise I will make this work. Me and Freddie will open our joke shop and I'll use my share of the money to take care of you and our baby. I will do anything to protect the both of you. One day I'll get us our own place with plenty of space for our children to explore. Most importantly this ring will be replaced with a different ring one day. Will you accept this promise." George said all of this while smiling. Alice had teared up and smiled. All she could get out was "Yes". George smiled and opened the box to reveal the simple ring.

George slipped the ring on her finger and it was a perfect fit. They both smiled and George kissed her passionately. "So when did you find out?" he asked curiously. "This morning. Me and Angelina were studying but we got bored and decided to just talk. I told her how I wasn't feeling like myself and everything. After a bit of talking Angelina suggested we talk in her dorm so we'd be more comfortable. When we got there she told me that she didn't think I was sick. She took out a pregnancy test and said I should take it to be sure. After it came back positive I freaked out and thought I ruined your dreams but she assured me that I didn't. Only her and Katie know. Katie came back early from the greenhouse." Alice explained calmly. George rolled his eyes and smiled. Always prepared he thought. They had decided to finally go to lunch after they talked for a while. When they got there they only saw Pansy, Blaise Draco and the rest of them but there was no sign of Harry just yet. When they sat down Pansy immediately spotted the ring. "Already you two just started dating." she said starting to laugh. They all joined in on the laughing before Alice explained that it was just a promise ring with George chiming in with "For now". Draco was shifting in his seat excitedly. "What's got you all riled up." Chris asked which made the rest of them wonder. "Well I really don't want to steal the spotlight from Alice and George but mum sent this today." Draco said while holding up a small package. "It's a promise ring. My cousin Regulus was going to give it to his partner, Matteo, but he died before he could. He was gonna propose to him and run away like Sirius and Andromeda. No one knew he was gay so me and mum talk in code. See?" Draco said just loud enough for only them to hear handing Alice the note. She quietly read the note to everyone. Draco, I know about you and Pansy. I'm so happy for you. I thought I'd give you the ring that Regulus was going to give to Martha. I have been holding on to it for the right time to give it to you. Love, Mum "I'm guessing Pansy is code for Harry and Martha is code for Matteo." Alice said quietly. Draco nodded and said a quiet "Sorry" to Alice and George. George and Alice just smiled. "What the hell are you sorry about? This is exciting for you!" George said with a big smile. Draco looked at them confused. He thought they wouldn't want the spotlight stolen but he was wrong. Draco looked up and saw Harry walking in. Alice was quick enough to grab the package and note and slip it into her bag before Harry saw. Draco mouthed a 'Thank you' to her and she nodded. Harry sat down and kissed Draco's cheek. "Look, George gave Alice a promise ring today!" Ginny said excitedly. Harry looked and smiled. "I thought you were planning something big with fireworks and a picnic? What happened to that plan?" Fred asked. George just said he changed his mind. Alice looked at George and then the rest of the group. "Room of Requirements. Twenty minutes." was all she said before getting up with George. In the hallway George asked if they were really telling them today. "The sooner the better." she said smiling. They arrived and waited for the rest of them to arrive. When they finally did they all sat down and Alice immediately told them. They were all in shock but happy. Fred had started laughing. "Oh Georgie your a dead man. Mum's gonna kill you when you tell her." he said still laughing. Hugs were exchanged and they stayed there for an hour just talking and deciding on when to tell Molly and Arthur. Ginny came up with the idea of visiting them to have a family dinner on the weekend because she knew McGonagall would let them. They all agreed and then they left. Alice wrote a letter suggesting the family dinner and went to the owlrey to send it off.
