Fall (Chapter 5)

INT. LUKE'S DINER. DAY

It's really early in the morning and the diner is half crowded. We see Lorelai come in and go to the bar. On her way Tom talks to her.

Tom:

Hey Lorelai, how's Luke? When he'll be back?

Lorelai:

Hey Tom. Luke is getting better. I guess in a couple of weeks.

Tom:

That's great. Send him my bests.

Lorelai:

Thank you, I will.

Lorelai goes to the bar. She sees Caesar on the kitchen.

Lorelai: (cont'd)

Hi Caesar.

Caesar:

Hey Lorelai.

Suddenly, behind the bar Kirk stands up.

Lorelai:

Ohh (surprised) Kirk, what are you doing there?

Kirk:

Good morning Mrs. my name is Kirk and I'm gonna be your waiter today!

Lorelai:

What? Kirk it's me, Lorelai.

Kirk:

I know it. But that's what she told me to say when someone comes in! (points at the back door)

Lorelai:

She? Who's she?

April comes from the back checking the supplies list. She is wearing a square shirt and a baseball cap like Luke.

April:

(Speaking loud) Caesar, we're almost out of beans, and chicken.

Caesar:

I'm on it.

Lorelai:

April?

April:

(To Kirk) Don't worry Kirk, I got from here.

Kirk:

Ok, I'll go and check on that table.

April:

(To Lorelai) Hi Lorelai!

Lorelai:

(smiling) what are you doing here?

April:

Well, I decided to give my dad a hand with the diner.

Lorelai:

I think that's... sweet of you.

April turns around and grabs a bag, then gives this to Lorelai.

April:

I guess this is yours... a big coffee and 2 blueberry muffins with extra cream.

Lorelai:

But how do you...

April:

Know? My dad told me. He said, coffee is a must so the bigger the better and he also said you'll ask for a couple of donnuts, 2 bagels or 2 blueberry muffins because you eat one on your way to the inn, and keep the other for your mid morning break, you know? because you get hungry but you don't have the time to get back here.
