Chapter 17:Happy Birthday Sol~!

                             Eridan POV

Sol and I have been together for approximately 2 months now and things couldn't have been better. Sollux, while not the most affectionate man, he definitely is sincere with his love for me. Whenever we watch a movie, Sollux allows me to cuddle with him.

And since we've been together for so long it's almost Sol's birthday. His birthday is in two days from now and I want everything to be perfect.

I decided to call my good ol' acquaintance, Kanaya. Kanaya is going to help me decorate the apartment for Sol.  I also wanted my friend Nepeta to help decorate the cake with me. I grabbed my cell phone and dialed Kanaya's number.

I heard the dial tone before I heard Kanaya's voice.

"Hello. This is Kanaya Maryam, fashion designer in training, how may I help you?"

"Hey Kanaya it's Eridan. Listen I need your help wwith somethin."

"Eridan! I haven't heard from you in quite a while and what is it you need?"

"Kanaya, you may not knoww this, but I havve a boyfriend noww. And in two days it's his birthday."

Oh, congratulations! But, what's this got to do with me?"

"I wwas wwonderin if you could decorate my apartment."

"I don't know Eridan, I have a lot of work to do."

"Please Kanaya, I really wwant evverything to be perfect for his birthday." I had to resort to begging now, unbelievable.

"Oh Eridan, oh alright I'll help decorate your house for your boyfriend."

I squealed with happiness and quickly thanked Kanaya, before hanging up to call Nepeta.

"This is Nepeta Leijon, how may I help mew?" Ah that's how I remember Nepeta, always making cat puns.

"Hey Nepeta. It's Eridan. Can you help me wwith somethin?"

"Ampurra! And of course I'll help mew. What do mew need help with?"

"Wwell...I havve a boyfriend noww." After saying this I held my phone away from my ear as I heard Nepeta squeal.

"Mew have a boyfuriend! Ampurra that's wonderful!

"Heheh. Thanks Nepeta. I need your help in decoratin this cake I'm about to bake."

"Of course I'll help mew. It'll be my pleasure."

With a quick thanks to Nepeta, I got ready to bake the cake.

~2 hours later~

I just finished the cake when the door bell rang.

Ding Dong

I went to answer the door and as I opened it, I saw Kanaya and Nepeta.

"Hello Ampurra! We're here fur mew!"

"Indeed we are here to help."

I thanked them once more for coming and led Nepeta to my kitchen, while Kanaya pulled out decorating supplies.

While we were working on making the apartment look presentable, I found out that Kanaya was dating a girl named Rose and Nepeta was dating her childhood friend Equius.

It was at 8 o'clock pm when we finished. They said their goodbyes and left. I called Sollux and told him to come over. When he agreed, I hung up and turned off the lights to surprise him.

It was only 20 minutes later I heard the door unlocking( I gave Sollux a key).

"Eridan, you here?" He called out.

I waited until he walked closer before turning on the lights.

"Happy Birthday Sol~!" I yelled out with glee. He had a look of shock on his face. He walked over and kissed me asking,

"What'th all thith?"

"Wwell, I decided that since it wwas your birthday that I threww a little party for you. Do you like it?" I was nervous thinking that he didn't like it, until he decided to kiss me senseless. I was breathless when he pulled away smiling.

"Like it? I LOVE IT!" Sollux wwas smiling like a goof. We ate cake and watched movies. All in all it was a great birthday for Sol.
