Chapter 29: Best Day of His Life

~Sollux's POV~

After I found out about Eridan's biggest secret, I decided to make Eridan's life a whole lot better. When Eridan fell asleep I went online and bought tickets to the aquarium because Eridan has been pleading to me to take him, so now's my chance!

It was Saturday, the day I decided to surprise Eridan by taking him to the aquarium. It also helps that it's his birthday today.

"Hey ED~." I called out. Eridan looked up from his book and smiled at me.

"Yes Sol?" He questioned.

"I have a thurprithe for you~. I think you'll really enjoy it." I rocked back and forth on my heels waiting for Eridan's answer. He looked at me confused for a moment before answering me.

"Uh sure!" Eridan got up and put his shoes on but, before he could walk out of the door, I stopped him.

"Uh-uh! It'th a thurprithe, tho I'll have to blindfold you. You wouldn't wanna ruin the thurprithe do you ED?" I said mockingly to Eridan. He pouted, but conceded to wearing a blindfold over his eyes.

I led him out to the car, carefully making sure he didn't bump his head and I buckled him into his seat. I started up the car then off we went to the aquarium.

During the drive I had to keep Eridan occupied so he wouldn't get suspicious of where we were going. We later trivia games about history, which ED excels at, and sang FallOut Boy songs, such as Light 'Em Up, Centuries, and Phoenix. We were getting closer to our destination, but I wanted to wait until we were inside the aquarium to take the blindfold off.

We made it to the parking lot and I parked close to the entrance so that way when we left we wouldn't be wandering around aimlessly looking for our car. (We all have this issue.) I opened the car door for ED and helped him out of the car before leading him to the building. I gave the guy behind the counter our tickets and walked inside.

Finally, inside the aquarium I slowly took the blindfold off making Eridan impatient.

"Hurry up Sol! I wwanna knoww wwhy you'vve...blindfolded..me." Eridan started out, but went silent when he realized where we were. He looked around in awe and his eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. He turned to look at me and asked,

"You...did this for me?"

"Well yeah. I mean I knew how much you wanted to come to the aquarium and ever thince the whole incident with your...dad, you could uthe the break." I explained. He stood there looking at me before tackling me with a hug, telling me thank you over and over.

It was about give minutes later before he let me up and started dragging me around, but it was worth it. If it meant seeing Eridan with a big smile on his face then I'd do this again.
