Chapter 28: Secret Revealed

~Normal POV~

After Sollux managed to get Eridan to calm down he wondered what Eridan's dad was talking about. What secret? What does it have to do with ED?

He was curious as to what the secret was, but didn't want to ask Eridan in case he might upset him, so he'll wait until Eridan tells him. Even if it might take years.

So after the whole Eridan vs. His dad shenanigan, Cronus came over a few days after the incident to check on the two lovers and see if Sollux was well.

A knock sounded on the door and Sollux went to answer it, revealing Cronus standing outside. He let the elder Ampora in and told him to wait on the couch while he went to get his brother.

"ED, Cronuth ith here. He wantth to thee you." Sollux announced to Eridan watching as he got up and went to the living room. When Sollux looked into the living room he saw the two siblings cuddle each other, although Cronus was confused as to why they were cuddling in the first place.

Cronus looked at Sollux asking with his eyes, 'What's wrong with my brother?'

Sollux mouthed back, 'Your douche of a dad.'

And Cronus looked angry, yet terrified and looked down at Eridan. Various questions rang out through Cronus's mind, the main one being Why? Why did his father come here? Why did his presence affect Eridan so badly? But before he could have these answers questioned he had to wait for Eridan to calm down and fall asleep.

About two hours later Eridan took a nap and was carried into his bedroom. Cronus slowly closed the door as to not wake him up, before going to confront Sollux.

"Alright chief. Vwhat is vwrong vwith my baby bro? You said that my dad had something to do vwith it?" Cronus interrogated.

"About two dayth ago, your dad came over to thpeak with ED. He waited in the apartment, becauthe you know ED had to buy thtuff from the grocery thtore. Well when ED got home, he froze when he thaw your dad and thtared at him with complete hate and rage. Long thtory thort your dad thmacked Eridan and thaid thomething about a thecret then left." Sollux summarized. When Sollux finished speaking, Cronus gained a look of shock and anger.

Cronus clenched his teeth and his fists trying not to punch the wall in anger. How dare his father imply the one thing Eridan was ashamed of? How dare he?!

"That fuckin bastard...I'm gonna kill him for speaking about that.." Cronus muttered to himself before looking at Sollux with defeat in his eyes.

"Ok chief, vwhat I'm about to tell ya is a big secret Eridan doesn't vwant anyone to knowv so that means you can't tell anyone about this alright?" Sollux nodded, promising to not tell anyone what was going to be told to him.

Cronus took a seat, taking a deep breath wanting to get this over with, "....Eridan has a vweak heart. He's had it since birth, but recently it's been getting vworse... the doctors say that he might not havwe long to livwe. They havwe been trying to find a newv heart for him, but no one vwants to donate. Eridan didn't vwant to tell you because he knewv it vwould vworry you, so please don't get upset vwith him. If you talk to Eridan about this please don't pressure him or upset him." Cronus said finally getting up and walking out the door.

When Cronus left Sollux sat there in shock and upset. How come Eridan didn't tell him? Was he upset that he would leave him? Well whatever the reason, Sollux wouldn't ever abandon Eridan. If anything Eridan needed him now more than ever. He'll make sure that if Eridan does die he'll make his life enjoyable until the end.
