Sorry this took so long to write, I'm out of hospital now but I'm on a new medication so things are still going to be a bit slow. Thanks so much for the comments wishing me well, hope this chapter was worth the wait.

Enjoy!

"Sounds bloody nosy if you ask me."

If anything seemed different as the four Marauders dived into their new year, it was how Sirius was taking the news of Cordelia in a not so gentle fashion. Remus had decided to share said girls continuous attempts to get in contact with him over summer simply because he really couldn't figure out why she seemed to have taken an interest in him.

"I don't think it's like that, she doesn't ask intrusive questions, I don't actually know what she wants."

Remus told them, curling his legs up to his chest as he got comfortable in his usual chair in the common room. It was the first day back and the whole school had decided to give the students a day off to adjust to being back. So the Marauders decided to laze about for most of the day as it was to rainy to go outside.

"Do you think she's like you?"

James asked in a quiet voice. This was something Remus had already thought of but it didn't fit right with him, Cordelia couldn't have been a werewolf. Besides the fact that she didn't show any of the signs Remus had noticed in himself he was sure that Dumbledore would have let him know. It felt like she was something completely different.

"I don't think so, she doesn't have any scars and I'm pretty sure she would if she was being locked up like I am. It's against our nature. It feels different too."

He answered, sighing as he rested his head back on a cushion. Remus could see Sirius scowling out of the corner of his eye and he couldn't help feeling annoyed. Things had been slightly strained between them recently, ever since he rejected the idea of them becoming Animagus. It didn't make sense for anything to be different, and right now he was feeling rather tired of things not making sense.

"What's up with you?"

Remus finally asked, sitting up a little to send a look in Sirius's direction. He hadn't bluntly asked his friend this yet because they'd just gotten back and they hadn't had a hard time when leaving for summer. But Remus was reaching his end and honestly just wanted answers.

"Nothing, I'm fine."

Sirius said, dropping his glare to move his gaze back to the fire place. Of all the things going on in his life this was the last thing he needed. He didn't think he would survive if Remus suddenly went off into the sunset with this girl, he needed his friends to help him and he didn't think that would happen with all the jealousy running through his body at the new idea of 'Cordelia'.

They all sat still in a moment of silence as they got used to the new tension, James sending a desperate glance to Peter who had been very quiet for the whole conversation.

"Anyone want to play Exploding Snaps?"

Peter asked, getting the message that they shouldn't leave things hanging in the air. Personally he didn't know what to think about Remus's strange admirer, he'd never even heard of the girl before now and this was their third year at school. If anything came to mind it was that the interactions the two had had so far were strange, and it would probably be in everyone's best interest to try and ignore them.
Thankfully they seemed to like this idea and dropped the conversation, moving on to enjoying a simple game without worry.

Sirius however didn't quite let it go. As they got back into the swing of classes and business of school work he couldn't get the idea that this girl was bad news out of his head. He even started having dreams around it between the ones he was already having about his dad and the women he'd seen.
