Ronit
I was just started to enjoy her company when she pulled away leaving me feeling alone again. Anvi, she had become a habit, a safety net. And even the thought of getting ripped away from her sends me through panic.
Without her, my life would be decent into chaos. She had been holding on to all the things around me, she had never asked for anything in return. I held her hand not letting go and walked out of the room.
I saw the doctor was standing with Neev and he was talking to him. "Mr. Bajaj, you look pretty bashed up." He commented as we reach there. I still didn't let go of her hand. "Mrs. Bajaj, shall we check you up?" He asked.
She left my hand and sat on the couch. The doctor checked her first. I took the space beside her. Her hand was touching mine and every time she felt it moved closer and closer till I get the chance to hold it once again.
"I need to give you a tetanus shot hold still please." I saw how afraid she was so, without even thinking about what I was doing I pulled her face towards me and kissed her. Her eyes widen in surprise. But she wasn't the only one who was surprised at my behavior it was my brother too.
I pulled back waiting for her reaction. And it came she slapped me. I touched my lips. I can still feel her there. It made me smile.
"I am sorry," she said moving away. "It was instinct. I shouldn't have slapped you after what you have done for me, I shouldn't have..." I pulled her lightly and kissed her again. All in the presence of my brother. She pulled back and her hand raised again. She quickly pulled it back quickly.
"yes, it was an instant reflex now you know how to control it. Mrs. Bajaj. Besides what I did was to distract you." She looked down. "I understand thank you, sir. For distracting me." She tried to move away. "you know Shehzaadi, I am afraid too, can you not distract me?"
I achieved what I was aiming for. She blushed, that was one thing I never ever saw her do. "I...I..." She shuttered. "haan boliye meri Shehzaadi" I asked softly touching her lips which were split. I want to kill that person how dare they hurt her this way.
"Ronit" I heard another voice and Anvi looked at the owner in shock. I know she is afraid of Tanvi. "What are you doing clinging to him, you..." she raised her hand to hit Anvi. I held it. Tanvi looked at me with disbelief. "Ronit what you are doing?" Tanvi asked.
"Can't you see she is hurt and scared? The last thing she needs Tanvi is you hurting her more than she already is." Tanvi pulled her hand away. "You are fighting with me because of her? I thought you love me." I should have felt guilty yes, I had missed her birthday.
But seeing Anvi almost giving her life to save me, seeing her almost on the verge of death, and seeing those men hitting her in front of me, it had evoked a protective side I never thought I can possess towards Anvi. "I love you still Tanvi, but you are a girl, can't you see how scare she is? Why you always have to think about yourself?" I never raised my voice in front of her.
I felt Anvi flinch at that. She moved back leaving me. I saw Anvi walked towards Neev and Tanvi sat beside me. Neev pulled her into his arms hugging her lightly trying not to hurt her. "Look what happened when you try to be the hero. Look what had happened, you are hurt. What would have happened if the cops haven't reached you in time? They would have killed you. And then what I would have been left with? Nothing. You are my life Ronit. For the last three years, you have been in my life, it had changed for the better, you have changed it for the better. I cannot lose you. How am I going to survive if something happened to you?" Tanvi asked touching my face. "And it is all because of her. Since she came into your life all is getting upside down."
