Chapter 23

"Well don't just stand there. Spit it out." Levi said. We were all anxious about how her surgery went. Connie crying usually didn't mean good things either.

"She's okay. She will make a full recovery." Connie smiled at me and I burst into tears. Hange and Levi looked relieved. As much as Levi hates to admit it he cares for all of my friends.

Connie came over to me and wrapped me in a hug. I cried into his shoulder a bit longer. I don't know what I would have done if I lost Sasha.

"I'm so glad you're both okay y/n. I don't know how I would be able to live without my sister and my bitch." We both chuckled at that.

"Thanks Connie."

"For what?"

"Well for being here and for always knowing how to make me laugh." I gave him a kiss on his cheek and he laughed.

"Yes! I thought you wouldn't actually start kissing my cheek and that you just told me that to make me happy." He climbed into the bed next to me and laid his head on my shoulder.

"Of course I meant it Connie."

"You need to talk to Jean. He was super worried about you. Still is. You were really harsh."

"I agree with Connie on this. I already said that too." Levi butted into the convo. "All he did was call you babe. I know you've been through a lot so don't worry too much. Just know you were harsh on him."

"Okay, you guys are right. I'm sorry. I'll talk to him." I looked over to Levi. "Also do you know how long I have to stay here? I haven't even heard if I got hurt or not. I've been focused on Sasha."

"Well you have a mild concussion, but they are still checking over some tests so you have to stay the night. I can sign you out tomorrow. Speaking of which I believe visiting hours are over."

I looked at Connie to see he had dozed off. He really shouldn't be driving home which means Jean shouldn't be either.

"Don't worry. I'll take them home." Levi must have read my thoughts.

"Well, I guess I should be going then. I'm so glad you're okay y/n. Hange came over and kissed my forehead. "Don't hesitate to ask for anything. I'll sneak in the window if I have to."

"I won't. Thanks, Hange, I love you."

"Love you too kiddo."

Levi walked over and gently shook Connie awake. "I will be back first thing in the morning as soon as visiting hours start okay?"

"Goodnight Levi. I love you. Be careful okay? You too Hange." They both nodded.

"I love you too y/n." With that, they left me alone in the room. I knew I wouldn't be able to say goodnight to Jean since he probably went home with Levi.

I honestly regretted snapping at him. I shouldn't have said that and I know I hurt his feelings. He was just being nice. I understand that after all of the trauma with Marco he would be worried. I figured they wouldn't be bringing Sasha back into this room with me. She probably had her own room to help her recover from surgery.

I hate being alone.

I checked my phone after all day to see my phone had blown up with messages from everyone.

Y/n! I heard what happened. Please call or text me when you can. I hope you are okay. Me, Mikasa, and Armin are going to stop by tomorrow after school and visit you and Sasha. Let me know if you want anything.

Hey Eren, thanks for the concern. I'm fine and am excited to see you guys tomorrow. I don't need anything. Thank you though. Will you please tell everyone else. I don't want people worrying, but I am tired and want to go to bed. Thanks!

Of course. Sleep well and I will see you tomorrow!

I was actually very tired but I hate being alone. I might as well talk to someone. I call the one person I know who will always answer.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Jean."

"Y/n is something wrong?"

"I just want to apologize for earlier. I shouldn't have said that. I'm sorry, I understand how hard this must be for you especially after Marco."

"It's okay. Like I said the most important thing is that everyone is okay."

"Did you get home safe?"

"Oh, I actually haven't left yet. I just got done visiting Sasha."

"Will you come back and stay with me tonight? I hate being alone. Especially in hospitals."

"Of course darling. I'll be there in a minute."

I was shocked he agreed so fast. I am also shocked that he isn't still upset with me. I laid back down and waited for him. Soon enough I heard the door opening and looked up to see Jean peaking in.

"Hey."

"Hey. Come in."

He walked in and just awkwardly stood there for a while.

"Why are you acting weird?"

"I just don't know what you want me to do."

"What do you mean Jean? I want you to stay with me. Like in the treehouse."

"But earlier you said "We aren't dating" all because I called you babe, but now you want me to stay the night with you?"

"I'm sorry about that Jean. I thought we already went over that and everything was okay."

"Everything is okay. You know I love you and can't stay mad at you, but I don't think I can sleep here tonight. First, visiting hours are over and I have school tomorrow. Second I just don't think it's a good idea right now. I'm sorry."

"Okay, I understand. I'm glad you at least forgive me." He walked over and kissed the top of my head.

"Goodnight y/n. I'll see you tomorrow. I'll come straight after school okay?"

"Okay. I think Eren, Mikasa, and Armin are coming also to check in Sasha."

"Of course Erens coming. I'll see you tomorrow." He walked out without another word.

I understood why he didn't stay, but I was still sad he didn't. I always get the best rest with him there.

I am so sorry for making all of you guys want to commit sewerslide, but never once was I going to have Sasha die. I almost made it to where Marco was alive. I am glad everyone is enjoying the story though! Again let me know if you have any questions or suggestions I am open to anything.
