- Beau's POV -

It was somewhere between all of the dancing, champagne, and being in each other's presence that Natalia and I realized that there was no way in hell we could drive back to California.

Around three in the morning, we book a flight back to California for Sunday evening. We slept for most of Sunday until it was time to go to the airport.

It was weird to see her in different situations if that made sense.

I was used to seeing her at parties, in restaurants, and studying. It was nice to see her doing everyday things.

Falling asleep next to Natalia was heaven on Earth.

I wasn't lying when I said everything was easy with her.

When I was around other people, it sometimes felt forced or awkward. The conversations would be short or run in circles and the silence was uncomfortable.

It was never like that when I was with her.

I also wasn't lying when I told her that she terrified me.

Natalia Fitzgerald made me feel things that I'd never felt before.

My feelings for her were so intense.

That's what terrified me.

I'd never felt so drawn to anyone in my life.

Natalia also posted me on her Instagram.

I know it wasn't anything groundbreaking or life-changing, but it meant something to me

I know it wasn't anything groundbreaking or life-changing, but it meant something to me. This shit wasn't feeling so fake anymore.

"Archer is in California for his spring break. He got into Yale Law School, so my mom wants to celebrate. My parents are having a barbecue and pool party on Thursday night if you want to come." Natalia brought up as we sat in the back on an Uber.

I nodded my head. "What time?"

"Five until whenever. It's just our family." she answered. "Do you have any games this week?"

"Just one on Tuesday against Loyola Marymount which means I have an early morning and late-night practice tomorrow. The next week is the regular three at Oregon." I gave her a quick rundown.

"There's going to be a big party for Matteo on Saturday at that same house we went to for my birthday. Clear your schedule." I mentioned.

Nat gave me a small smile. "You got it."

My hand grazed over her's."Thank you, habibti."

"Translate please." she looked me in the eyes.

"In due time." I winked.

I walked Natalia to her apartment like the good boyfriend that I was. Fake or real? I didn't really know. I wasn't ready to talk about it.

Just as I predicted, our practices were intense. We only took five days off, but our coaches were acting like we took five months off. I took a lot of ice baths and used a hell of a lot of Epsom salt.
