"If I was dying on my knees
You would be the one to rescue me
And if you were drowned at sea
I'd give you my lungs so you could breatheI've got you brother"-Kodaline, Brother

Elijah
"Lily!" Elijah exclaimed, seeing the mess she had made of his room. "Care to explain?"
He had left the house for barely two hours and had returned to find his room a complete mess. It looked as if a tornado had hit, and left everything but his room unscathed; only, this tornado had a name: Lily Jacobs.
All his books that had previously been arranged on his desk now lay scattered on and around it; his cupboard was thrown open, all the clothes a jumbled mess. Even his bed was a muddle. His sheets were on the ground, the blankets thrown to the other side of the room, and the mattress was slightly off the bed's edge. He didn't even want to think about what papers were scattered across the floor.
And standing by his washroom door was an abashed Lily. Smiling innocently, she said, "Whoa! This is... quite a mess, eh?" Seeing her brother's unamused look, she conceded, "Okay. I might have pissed Leo off by teasing him about a girl he likes; he took my phone and hid it somewhere. I saw him coming out of your room and I'm sure it's in here. C'mon, not that disappointed look; I'll clean it up!"
"Seriously, Lily? You're smarter than that; Leo would never let you see him coming out of my room if he'd actually hidden it here," he said with a roll of his eyes. "Also, Leo likes a girl?" he asked with a slight smirk.
Realizing what she had revealed, Lily's eyes wide as saucers. "Forget I ever said that. In fact, forget I ever said anything," she said in a rush, but Elijah just chuckled.
"Really, Lil? Don't you remember when you accidently told him I had romcoms in my Netflix search history; he didn't let it go for at least a month. Why would I give this up?" he grinned.
Lily just groaned, knowing that Leo was going to throw a fit when he found out that Elijah knew.
Elijah loved his siblings more than anything but, at the end of the day, they were his annoying younger siblings; he too had the right to annoy them sometimes.
"I'm going over to Kade's since you've singlehandedly managed to destroy my room. Clean it up, Lil," he said, grabbing his car keys from where he had left them on the side table.
"Hate you, Lijah," Lily yelled as he left, to which he called back, "Love you too, Lil." He was sure Lily must have rolled her eyes at that, causing him to chuckle softly.

Entering Kaeden's house, Elijah made a beeline for his bedroom. It had begun raining outside, and he was freezing; he hated unseasonal rainfall, but it was New York: how could the first school month go without any rain?
Kaeden followed him in, and raising an eyebrow, asked, "How're you even awake on a Sunday? You're usually asleep till, like, two in the afternoon."
"Coach called the team for a swim meet this morning," he shrugged. He could give up a couple hours of sleep for something else he liked. Who am I kidding; sleep will forever be my priority, he thought to himself.
However, at the back of his mind, he knew he'dbeen spending at least an hour in bed thinking about his newfound feelings fora particular hazel eyed brunet. No matter how hard he tried to sleep, his thoughts would drift back to Dean, and his charismatic personality. And he didn't like it at all; especially because it was something he could never act upon. He rarely opened up to anyone, but with Dean being one of the only people who never treated him with pity, he was not willing to ruin whatever friendship was developing between the two.
