Hey guys! This chapter got really long, and I kinda wanted to write the second half in Dean's perspective, so I split it into two parts. Hope you like it!
Warning: there's a descriptive procedure for Elijah's treatment in the second part of the chapter, so if anyone is triggered by scenes like that, please be careful!
Also, I'm not an expert, but I did try to do a fair bit of research to make it as accurate as I could. If you notice that I messed anything up, lemme know!

"Right now
I wish you were here with me (Oh-ooh)
'Cause right now
Everything is new to me (Oh-ooh)
You know I can't fight the feeling
And every night I feel it
Right now
I wish you were here with me"

Elijah
When Elijah had thought the worst anxiety of his life was waiting to know whether or not he actually had cancer, he had been wrong. This was worse.
Then, atleast, he hadn't been alone.
He was only now realizing how dumb it had been to tell Kaeden and Raine to leave to go make their statements for the police. He should've just agreed to let them stay until his chemo session was done.
Another stupid thing he did was look up exactly how the whole lumbar puncture and chemotherapy process would take place.
Plus, the hospital gown was sort of itchy. Sitting on the bed with his legs dangling over the edge, he waited for Doctor Larkson to come in. Since it was his first time, Doctor Larkson himself would come in to do the procedure. He was thankful for that. After Raine, he was the one Elijah was most comfortable with around here.
After a few moments of hesitation, Elijah reached for his phone, opening his contacts. He typed out a message to Dean, his finger hovering over the send button.
He knew Dean was busy handling the whole Brian ordeal– he still had that picture, and none of them trusted him not to release it just because Christian had agreed to his insane idea.
But Elijah also didn't know what else to do.
Sighing, he sent the message. Who knew, Dean might not even read it.
Hey... I know you're busy and I said you all could swing by later, but can you come early?... its fine if u can't tho, I know you're loaded rn
But of course, being the amazing boyfriend he was, Dean texted back not even a minute later.
On my way
And I'm never too busy for u
Elijah could practically feel his heart melt, both with relief and giddiness at Dean's words.
He wasn't sure what he had done to deserve Dean- though he could probably list a hundred reasons why he didn't deserve him- but he was greatful to have him in his life.
As a sharp stab of pain shot through his body, Elijah let himself fall back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling with his legs still dangling over the edge of the bed.
