Me, Amelia and Beau roamed the halls for a while. I showed her my class schedule and she showed me where they would be so that I wouldn't get lost. She was only in two of my classes but Beau ended up being in all of them.

Amelia introduced me to some people but I wasn't really paying attention to what they looked like or even what their names were. My mind was to preoccupied.

Okay so, you're not allowed to judge me, but I kept thinking about Mark. Its not like I haven't seen any good-looking guys. I have, but damn he was tall. When he walked up to me I felt like a little kid. I mean, I know I'm pretty short for a girl but seriously he was fucking tall. I'm gonna have to ask him how tall he is that next time I see him. Beau was actually taller than Mark. Which, in my opinion, is pretty impressive, but Beau wasn't as built as Mark.

Well if you haven't noticed by now, yes, I am very attracted to tall people. Why? I don't know. I just think they're amazing.

"So, how do you like it so far?" Beau came up behind me and put his lips to my ear. I shivered in my chair. We were in the lunchroom now, attempting to eat the food.

I scooted closer to Amelia. He was way to close. I could literally feel his breath on me. I'm pretty sure he's a man-whore like Mark. I mean, they seem to be pretty close friends, and habits do rub off on people.

A young boy walked by our table. He seemed to be about 15. Why is he in here? I saw Beau looking intently at the boy. His dark eyes seemed to sparkle.

An accusation popped in my mind. "Beau?" He whipped his head in my direction. "Are you gay?" I said bluntly and immediately regretted it.

I heard Amelia try to muffle her laughter beside me. Beau just looked at me, shocked. "Never thought you would hear a girl ask you that, did you Beau?" Amelia said, erupting into higher pitched giggles.

He went back to his normal smirk. "Are my hints too subtle for you?" He scooted closer to me. "Maybe I should show my affection more? Would you like that?" He placed his hand on my upper thigh and stroked it.

I jumped out of my seat. What the hell was he doing?! You can't just do that to a girl. Delinquents or not, they should still know how to treat a woman with respect for her personal space.

Amelia just kept laughing and was slowly getting louder. I heard someone somewhere in the lunchroom yell. "Dear God, shut the hell up! You sound like a mating walrus!" This didn't faze her, she just laughed even louder than before.

My face turning red I looked down at Beau, he gave me a closed eye smile and started laughing too. Was I really the only on here mortified? People here are way too easy going.

I sat back down and tried to go back to eating, scooting even closer to Amelia. This food was impossible. I can't eat something like this. I swirled my fork around in the clumpy, gray mashed potatoes. This is so nasty. I mean, come. On. The food was literally gray. Gray!

I don't think I'll be able to survive here.

But really? How hard is it to make mashed potatoes.

There is only one hope I can look for left. The chicken nuggets. No matter what school you go to, the chicken nuggets are always the same. No one can mess up the chicken nuggets. It's practically impossible.

I looked around the lunchroom and looked at everyone in here. It wasn't that full, there were full tables open and some table only had one to two people. Others had a big group of people that seemed really normal. Like not one of them have committed a single crime. Like they were normal high school kids.

I couldn't believe have relaxed everyone seemed to be, like they were actually happy to be here.

A hand waved in front of me seizing my thoughts. "Aren't you going to eat?" I turned to Amelia, who seemed genuinely concerned. How could someone like her be in a place like this. I had to keep reminding myself that everyone was in here for a reason, even her.

This thought made me suddenly very sad. I didn't want to be in here, not with these people. Not even with Amelia. I just met her, for all I know she could be lying about everything.

I shook my head and pushed my plate away from me. She put her hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry you get used to it eventually. She gave me a soft smile. I looked over at her and it was the first time for me to really sink in on what she looked like. She was really pretty, not beautiful, not cute, pretty. You could tell though when she would finally be a woman, she would be gorgeous.

"How old are you?" I asked.

She smiled as if she knew I would eventually ask. She looked down at her feet and laughed. "I'm 14."

I stared at her blankly. She had to be lying, she looked at least 16. "You're joking."

She shook her head. "Nope, I'm really 14."

I looked over at Beau for verification. He nodded. "Yep, it's true. She's been in here since she was 12. You can ask Mark if you want."

I looked back over to Amelia, my mouth agape in shock. "Seriously? You're 14?"

She looked back up at me. "Yep. 14 and hoping to reach15."

I had to ask her the nagging question at the back of my mind. "Why are you even in a place like this?"

Her smile faded and she stared down at the table. "Well my brother transfered in here at an early age so I never got to see him. We were really close and my home life wasn't going all that great since he left. This was my only option to see him again and get away from home." My heart slowlly broke as she spoke. You could tell she was purposely leaving out details about her home. It must have been really bad for her to want to be transfered into a place like this.

I wanted to hug her but I didn't know her enough. "When did Mark transfer here?"

She wasn't hesitant about answering that question. "He was 14."

"Wow." I sat back in my chair in shock, "Were you the youngest to be transfered in here?"

Beau answered me this time. "She wasn't. There was girl here that transfered when she was 10." I looked at him shocked. 10 years old? What could a 10 year old possabably have done to come here? "She's not here anymore though, she escaped last year. I don't know why though she only had one more year until she turned 18."

My mouth dropped. "Wait, so she was in here for 7 years?"

He nodded. "Yeah, she and Mark went out for a good 2 years until she ran out of here."  I couldn't believe someone had been in here for so long. "Her and Mark had plans to escape together, but he stayed. She couldn't stand it in here anymore so she left and that was the end of that."

Someone had been in here since they were 10 years old and managed to escape 7 years later. I was honestly really glad that I missed meeting this person. If they came in here when they were 10 years old they must have done aome really fucked up things to end up here of all places.

I focused back on Beau, he seemed sad to talk about the girl. Maybe he was close to her. Amelia seemed to be sad at the mention of her too, maybe the girl grew up to be a better person and learn from her mistake from all the years she was in here. But really who could grow up with a good mind in a place like this.
