As the car came to a stop in front of the tall building, Mizuka looked out the window still chewing on the stick which minutes ago had held her lollipop. Exiting the vehicle Mizuka took in the building and its surroundings. Though she had been staring out most of the ride there. Her mind itself had drifted off into its own world causing her to be a little unsure as to where she currently was. As the door closed behind her she glanced at the thin man behind her. His posture was rough, a bit of slump to it. Had he ever stood straight up in his life? Watching him for a moment as he spoke to the driver Mizuka allowed her mind to run away with its thoughts once more. When she came back to earth the vehicle was gone and the man, L, was staring at her.
"You know staring is impolite right?" Her mouth slid into a frown of annoyance. Honestly he kind of creeped her out. To know this was the infamous detective was quite the disappointment.
"I do apologize for that, but I was letting you know we could go in for the last minute or two." A small tinge of pink slid into Mizuka's cheeks realizing she had spaced off longer than she'd meant to as he said this. Huffing quietly though to avoid lashing out due to her own ignorance, Mizuka just nodded letting him know he could lead the way.
As the man led the way into the building she watched his movements carefully. Though he was hunched over slightly his movements seemed precise in their movement. There was no hesitation, no appearance of health issues due to his posture what so ever. As he headed down what appeared to be a long hall Mizuka started to look more at the building itself. There were several rooms it appeared in this place. L had mentioned she'd be getting her own place to stay while she was here, but the floor plan still seemed excessive to her. How many exactly stayed here?
Looking forward once more she noticed they'd arrived at a pair of doors. As L opened the doors Mizuka came face to face with a handful of computers. Many were monitoring different rooms within the building, others had statistics of kills by both Kira and the person they'd dubbed as second Kira. A couple of people looked up from their work as the door shut behind the two. The first one that caught Mizuka made her skin crawl, Light Yagami. He'd been the main suspect of L's investigation until recently. Even though he was no longer the prime suspect having him in the same room as Mizuka almost caused her to throw up in slight panic.
"Gentleman, let me please introduce our newest member, Minima Anazuki." As her alias slipped from L's lips a small weight lifted off of her shoulders. This must be why L had requested using a specific alias name for him while with the taskforce. She had to guess most went by alias' over their given name.
"Minima?! As in the Minima?! Runs 'Crime Columns' podcast?!" As the loud voice came from behind Mizuka she quickly turned to come face to face with a blond haired, bright eyed young lady not much younger than herself. Nodding as she blinked in surprise from the outburst Mizuka took in the excitement shining from the girl's face. As she looked the girl over she quickly recognized her from the magazines her face had been all over.
"If I'm right you're Misa Aname, also known as Misa Misa." Mizuka said putting on a small smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you." As she took the young woman's hand she internally took a few notes. This was the girl that L had thought was the second Kira. However, after interrogation and holding both her, as well as Light, for over fifty days they had dismissed their suspicions. Though many in the task force she was sure had let the suspicion of the two go, Mizuka had to think that L had not. She wouldn't have, after all, turning yourself in and appearing to try to wipe suspicion from both you, as well as your captive girlfriend by doing so, appeared suspicious itself to her. Keeping a close eye on these two would definitely be in her best interest.
As the small group introduced themselves to her, Mizuka continued to take in the actions of those around her. She couldn't be to cautious in a situation like this. Speaking out from behind a microphone she felt was one thing. However, here she was putting herself out in the open in front of possibly two people who could kill her. During most of her podcasts she weighed in the pros and cons of the situation that Kira had proposed, however, the negatives she'd give might make him think she was against him. She had learned from many of the deaths that not only had criminals died, but those who spoke out against this new 'god.'
Continuing to take in her surroundings while everyone talked Mizuka felt her anxiety slowly creeping up on her. Pulling her small backpack around her she pulled out a cherry lollipop and slid it into her mouth. Candy wasn't the healthiest for you, but it seemed lollipops were one of the few things that helped calm her nerves when they heightened. She had to remind herself that though she was dangling like a worm on a hook, that this case could help bring her podcast to a whole new height.
"So you like sweets too huh?" Looking to her right she once again caught sight of the beaming Misa, "L loves his sweets, especially cake. You two would be so cute! Even though he is a little weird, and mean." Mizuka almost inhaled her lollipop as those words were uttered. In doing so she started choking causing everyone's eyes to be on her. Trying to wave them off as she continued to hack up a lung Mizuka gave Misa a small glare.
The ignorance of the girl next to her was unbelievable, but it did cause her to look at L. Watching as he had a quiet conversation with Light did make her think. He liked sweets huh? Guess that would explain why he handed her the random lollipop in the car. She would definitely have to take that part of Misa's statement into account incase she were to ever annoy, or upset L in the future.
Watching the interactions between L and Light became an interesting indulgence to say the least. The two's interactions appeared fluid and with no restraint. They were both quite intelligent, having a deep understanding, and drive to figure out this case. It seemed however, that some of their conversation was almost friend like as well though. A small smile would line L's lips here and there as the two conversed which was quite interesting, considering what appeared to be his normal composure. Beginning to look around the room however, she began to take mental notes of each of the officers in the room, along with the two, who had at one time, been suspects.
"Miss Minima," A voice came from next to Mizuka, causing her to almost jump out of her skin, "my apologies, but if you will please follow me I have placed all of the items you brought in your room." Nodding Mizuka took one last look around the office before quietly following the man out.
