Chapter 79: The Crash
Hi guys, welcome back to today's story. So, something pretty crazy just happened—I crashed on Andrew's motorcycle. Just before that, I had been thinking about telling the guys who I was going to choose, but now... I don't even know. The last thing I remember before everything went dark were the flashing red lights and the sound of sirens. My ears were ringing, and I was so confused.
When I finally woke up, I was in a hospital bed, surrounded by unfamiliar faces. My head throbbed, and when I tried to remember how I got here, everything was a blur.
"Lilly, are you okay?" a boy asked, his voice full of concern. He was sitting next to me, his arm in a sling, looking at me with an expression that suggested I should know him.
"Who... who are you?" I stammered, the panic rising in my chest. Nothing felt right. I didn't recognize anything or anyone.
"It's me, Andrew," the boy said, his face falling as he realized something was wrong. "You... you don't remember me?"
"Andrew..." I repeated, the name sounding foreign on my tongue. "I'm sorry, I don't... I don't remember."
Andrew's face twisted in anguish, and before he could say anything else, another boy burst into the room. His eyes were filled with a mix of anger and fear as he took in the scene.
"Lilly, thank God you're awake," the new boy said, rushing to my side. He looked at Andrew with such fury that it startled me. "What did you do to her, Andrew?"
"I... I didn't do anything on purpose," Andrew stammered. "It was an accident."
"Who are you?" I asked, my voice trembling as I pulled away from both of them. The panic was rising faster now, making it hard to breathe. "What's going on?"
The second boy's face fell, his anger replaced with concern. "Lilly, it's me, Lorenzo. Don't you remember?"
I shook my head, tears welling up in my eyes. "No... I don't remember anything. Who are you? What happened to me?"
Lorenzo's expression crumpled, and he took a step back as if my words had physically struck him. "You... you don't remember me? At all?"
"I'm sorry," I whispered, feeling completely lost. I had no idea who these people were or why they were so upset. All I knew was that I was scared and in pain, and nothing made sense.
A doctor walked in then, quickly assessing the situation. "Everyone, please calm down," she said, her voice soothing. "Lilly, you've suffered a head injury in the crash. It's causing some memory loss, but we're hopeful that it will return with time."
"Will she be okay?" Lorenzo asked, his voice breaking. "Will she remember?"
"We'll do everything we can to help her recover," the doctor assured him, though her tone was cautious. "Right now, it's important that we don't overwhelm her. Familiar faces, familiar places—these might help trigger her memories."
"But she doesn't even know who we are," Andrew said, his voice filled with despair. "How is she supposed to remember if she doesn't even know us?"
"She may not remember now, but we have to be patient," the doctor said firmly. "Give her time."
Chapter 80: The Weight of Lost Memories
As the doctor left, the room fell into a tense silence. Lorenzo and Andrew exchanged glances, both clearly struggling with how to handle the situation. I could sense their worry, but I still had no idea who they were or why they cared so much.
"Lilly," Lorenzo began, his voice softer now, as if he was afraid to scare me. "We've known each other for a long time. We were... we are really close. I know this is confusing, but I'm here for you. I just want to help you remember."
