Luke and I sat quietly on the bench, in front of the empty restaurant, for probably about twenty to thirty minutes. We hadn't said a word to each other since I apologized and I was really hoping he would speak up soon.

"I'm sorry," Luke muffled softly, under his breath. Finally! I felt bad now, knowing he was probably going through something that he wouldn't like to share with a stranger.

"It's okay," I reassured him. I put my legs up on the bench as well, and rested my chin on my knees.

"So what're you here for?" Luke, this time, questioned, his voice coming out raspy with his Australian accent.

"I have a full ride scholarship to NYU, so that's all basically. And well a job to help with rent." I explained to him in a gentle tone.

"Wow, full ride scholarship. That's amazing." I nodded my head in agreement. "Wait, where do you work?"

"Joe's Pizza," I answered. Luke just nodded his head at my response. "Have you ever been there?"

Instead of answering first, Luke grabbed my hand and pulled me off the bunch and back into the sidewalk.

"No, but in a couple of minutes I'll be able to say I have been there."
