Third Person POV

Happy endings are just endings that aren't finished yet, and not every couple gets them.

Seven years later, Liv finished her studies at NYU and it was her first year of working as a psychologist. She loved her job and learning new behaviors of the human mind and its functions.

Luke, on the other hand, things didn't go well for him. Two weeks later after he went back to Australia, his mom had passed away. It was the roughest thing he had gone through in his life. He loved her so much and probably loved her more than anyone else in the world.

Back to Liv's freshman year at NYU, she finally decided to give Luke a call, but it was disconnected. The new phone number was given to someone else, now she didn't have a clue to how she could contact him.

She cried for an hour or two when this happened. She knew she shouldn't have stayed with him that night, but of course he gave her a reason to.

His address.

---

A year after Liv started working as a psychologist, she saved up enough money for herself to fly over to Australia and surprise Luke. She was really excited for this plan and she hoped to God he was still there.

Liv was on the phone with Alyssa, who thankfully figured out her drinking problem and moved out somewhere else in the city, just bouncing around because of how happy she was. She couldn't wait to see Luke's face again and just adore him senselessly. She was now very thankful that he had given her his address because it was the only way to see each other again.

The flight to Australia from New York was the longest thing Liv had experienced in her life, but she knew it was totally gonna be worth it. She only had one suitcase with her and a travel backpack over her shoulder.

She had rented a car and drove herself to the hotel she was staying at. She didn't want to barge into Luke's own home without his permission, so she just decided to stay at the hotel for a little.

ONCE Liv arrived at the hotel, she got settled into her room and placed her luggage carefully onto surfaces.

It was only noon and Liv had plenty of time to get to Luke's. She wasn't even tired from the flight because she was just so happy to see Luke again.

She grabbed her purse and her rental car keys, along with her hotel room key before she left the hotel on her way Luke's house.

It took about 45 minutes for Liv to get to her destination. There Liv sat in her car seat, outside of Luke's home. She was nervous, her heart was beating faster than that one night her and Luke ran away from Joe's Pizza.

Liv finally took the courage and opened her car door and walked to the front of the house. She knocked on the door and waited patiently waited for someone to come and open it. She heard rustling from the interior and squirmed in her position, taking it all in that she would see Luke again.

The door knob twisted and the person was revealed, but it wasn't Luke.

The boy in front of her had dark brown hair, with dark eyes and looked like an Asian. That was definitely not Luke. Probably a friend?

"Is there a Luke here?" Liv spoke up, her voice shaky a little.

"Luke, tall, blonde, lip ring?" The boy described to her, which Liv shook her head rapidly. "He's not here anymore."

"Well do you know where he is?" Liv retorted, kind of worried now.

"He's dead. He passed away like two months ago I think." The brunette explained. Liv was heartbroken and she wanted to pass out. "Why, did you know him?"

"Oh, no, my friend just sent me here and asked, sorry for the bother." With that, Liv turned quickly away and fast walked back to her car. She wanted to cry for days and never see another human being's face ever again.

What Liv did not know was Luke died from lung cancer. All those coughs when they were in New York, that was the development of lung cancer. Luke had started smoking early in his teenage years, which made everything worse. Right after his mum had died, he smoked even more, thinking it would be his stress reliever, but it was more like his own murderer. Luke's body had just shut down one day and he died right on his own couch.

Liv was still crying. She eventually made it back to her hotel room, hoping no one would see her ruined face. She just laid in her bed, crying her eyes out not wanting to talk to anyone. She just couldn't believe that this would happen to her.

Liv blamed it on herself. That Luke's death was her fault. If they never even met, she wouldn't be crying at that very moment.

Many years later, Liv was with someone else. Liam. She enjoyed his company and they knew everything about each other since their long lasting friendship from NYU. Liv was really happy with him and found herself safe and sound when she was around him.

Liv just guessed that, meeting Luke was a ONCE in a life time thing.
