January 8th, 3 weeks after the incident
"Hey.", Awsten said, voice cold and leaning against the kitchen door.
"Hi, how was Uni?", Cosima asked, despite a knot forming in the back of her throat, thanks to the conversation with Grace still being fresh in her memory. She'd prefer not seeing him until she had made peace with its content.
Awsten scrunched his eyebrows, sensing that something was off, "Good...", he trailed off, "Are you okay? Where were you? I texted you."
"I was just getting some air and called Grace...", Cosima replied, a hint of passive-aggressiveness tinted her tone.
"I can just go if you don't want me here.", Awsten hissed, already taking his coat off the hanger. Even though Cosima had felt like not taking to him at all, she didn't want him storming off in an argument either.
"No, stop. Why are you trying to get away?", Cosima inquired, stepping into his way to prevent him from leaving.
Awsten sighed, trying to manoeuvre over to the door, "Because something is clearly bothering you and you won't tell me why!"
He got worked up so quickly, it blew Cosima away, "You haven't even asked!", she shouted back, but still blocking the door.
"I did! I asked you where you've been and you didn't give me an answer!", he defiantly crossed his arms over his chest.
Cosima panicked, "Why do you want to know my every move? I told you I was at the park. I needed to get out and move around, since you won't even include me in shopping for my own groceries."
Awsten scoffed, "Oh, I'm sorry for helping you out like that. How inconsiderate of me."
This effectively deflated Cosima's anger and she moved away from the door. Awsten leaned against the wall next to her, head hanging low.
"I didn't mean it like that.", Cosima apologised quietly, but Awsten didn't respond. Instead his gaze stayed glued onto the ground.
Cosima swallowed thickly, feelings of guilt consuming her.
"I didn't mean to blow up on you like that...", she stepped closer to him. She was kind of afraid that he would back away, but he didn't. When she was right in front of him, he lifted his head.
His eyes were piercing hers, almost as if he was staring her down.
"Hey...", Cosima whispered, trying to apologise again, "I'm sorry."
She laid her hand on his shoulder, testing his reaction. Awsten was considering to just leave, blow off some steam on his own, but he decided against it within a split-second. Instead of running off, he tilted his head down and swiftly pressed his lips against hers.
Cosima slung her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Awsten turned them around, and pressed her against the wall. She yelped at the action, as it did nothing good to her leg.
"Sorry.", Awsten apologised in between kisses.
His hands roamed down to her waist and tugged her even closer to him. The girl put all of her weight onto one leg and stretched the other out, letting it rest between his. Awsten trailed one of his hands down and hovered over the beginning of her bandage.
