Ponk laid awake as his mind wondered to think about what had been going on. Because of Dream being trapped in prison, Sam had to stay there the majority of the day, or atleast 17 hours a day. Meaning, he only had about 7 hours to spend time with Ponk, and all that time was used on sleeping, making and eating food, and freshening up. Sam guards the prison with Bad and Antfrost, but he didn't want to give them much trouble, it being Sam's prison.
Before Dream went to prison, Sam had just about all day to spend with Ponk, and he did, but now it's like they barley ever talked at all. Ponk turned over to Sam and spooned his back, despite their height difference. Sam woke up and turned over to Ponk, seeing that he looked sad. He knew Ponk was never too much of a clingy person, so he found this strange.
"What's wrong? Are you cold?" Sam asked in a sweet tone, not minding that he was losing time to sleep.
"I want attention..we don't ever get to hand out anymore" Ponk admitted, slightly tearing up.
"Awe.." Sam said, he turned himself around and pulled Ponk into his arms. He pulled Ponk as close to his chest as he could, every now and then pecking his head in long-lasted kisses. Ponk felt as if he were being comforted like a baby, which felt really nice.
After a bit Sam started to hum you are my sunshine,wanting to comfort Ponk as much as possible. He hadn't realized just how far Ponk and Sam had been growing apart, and now they were sealing that gap with affection.
After Sam finished singing the song he wiped away tears and rubbed off tear stains on Ponk's cheeks. "You know what.." Sam started. Ponk stared at Sam's mouth, then his eyes in curiosity. "How about I let Bad and Antfrost guard take my shift and I'll take three days off..how does that sound?" Sam asked, declaring that he really did need a break to both himself and Ponk. Ponk nodded, then Sam and Ponk both cuddled themselves to sleep.
