[8] I need to do something about this

We hit a couple more shops. Lisa insisted that I got a sarong. Because once in Bali, you get a sarong. She said I had to do it, it was like a right of passage. So I gave in. Then we found a surfer shop which sold really cool t-shirts. Lisa said we could wear them ironically because we weren't exactly surfer chicks but liked the style anyway. We each bought one, purposefully one size larger so we could tie them at the front, making them cropped. It looked so hot on Lisa I think I was gaping at her a little too obviously.

I had so much fun with Lisa and when we got frozen vegan milkshakes, yes that's a thing, it really did feel like a date all of a sudden. I shook the thought away.

We sat down on a little stone wall facing the beach, enjoying our cold drinks. We sat close with our thighs barely touching. "Are you going back to Thailand after you and Rosie are done travelling?" I asked her on a whim. She turned her face my way.

"I'm not sure yet." she contemplated. "We're definitely visiting my family when we go to Thailand after Bali but I don't know wether I want to move back completely... I made a life in Melbourne. I've got friends there. Rosie and I are living together too."

"I understand. It's hard to leave that all behind..." I nodded.

"We actually talked about moving to an entirely different country together, but we don't know where yet. One time, we thought it'd be cool to live in Japan for a year..." she stared at the distance.

"Jisoo and I talked about moving to Busan, because it's warmer, but that's as far as we got..." I laughed nervously.

"It's not easy packing all your stuff and moving into the unknown, but... it's almost always worth it..." Lisa philosophized.

"Maybe we should all move to Thailand together!" I joked. Lisa grinned at that.

"We'd make quite the roommates. I have to warn you, I'm messy and I'm bad at cooking." she snickered.

"That is horrible self promotion Lisayah!" I exclaimed, laughing. I felt her chuckling next to me.

"At least I'm honest." she countered with a glint in her eyes. "What are you bad at?" she poked my thigh with her finger. "Tell me!"

"Nooooo!" I refused, dragging the 'o', shying away from her assault.

"Tell me!" she demanded again, now nudging my shoulder until I laughed out loud at her antics.

"Fine...." I huffed. I thought about it for a second. "I'm bad at giving over control sometimes and I... tend to overthink things... and I hate ironing!"

Lisa snorted. "Nobody likes ironing!"

Spending time with Lisa was easy. My heart felt light and fluttery all day. Even when we reunited with Jisoo and Rosé later again, I still felt like I could fly. We spent the afternoon at a famous black beach together. And when I say black, I mean it.

The sand was almost pitch black. I had read online that it originated from lava coming from one of Bali's well-known vulcanos, Mount Agung. The contrast to the blue sky was stunning and we took about a million pictures each. Rosé was once again able to catch me in one of her instagram stories. I didn't bother hiding anymore.

In the evening Lisa and Rosé brought us back to our Resort where we showered off the days sweat and seasalt mix. We were planning on having dinner together again at one of the beach front restaurants and then maybe revisiting the La Brisa Bar where the four of us had met. I was kind of tired from another day out in the sun but I was too excited for an evening out to give in to my laziness. And I knew once I'd gotten a cocktail in, the sleepiness would disappear again as fast as it had come.
