[12] I hate monkeys

Lisa, Jisoo and me spent the better half of the morning playing around in the pool. When Rosé finally joined us, we ordered lunch on an local app that the girls introduced us to. It was a driving service that also delivered food from various restaurants in the area. A convenient little trick since we didn't have any scooters yet. Lisa and Rosé however, were determined to rent some as soon as possible so we could be a little more independent while we're here. 

The food arrived and we sat down on the terrace together to eat.

"So ladies, have you thought about what you want to do today, while I had my beauty sleep?" Rosé chirped. She was a lot happier after having caught up on her sleep. Usually Jisoo was the one who couldn't stand early mornings, but she had slept in the car on the way here, so her energy levels were up.

"There's this really old temple complex in the jungle and I read there are monkeys everywhere. I love monkeys!" Jisoo waved her fork around while talking. "It's on your list, isn't it Jen?" she looked over at me.

"Uhm, yes it is. Monkey forest sanctuary or something like that, I think. It's supposed to be really beautiful." I responded with a nod.

"So, should we go there after lunch?"

All four of us agreed. 

We ordered a taxi to take us to a scooter rental place first. Lisa insisted she wanted to drive by herself and not pay for taxis all the time. It felt too 'touristy' to her, she complained. It was adorable. Since all of us were obviously tourists, but whatever. 

Jisoo and I waited for them in front of the place while they got their rides.

"We need a sign or something..." my dark haired friend spoke up suddenly. I shook my head at her confused. What the hell was she talking about!?

"What sign? Do you have heatstroke?" I asked her teasingly.

She snickered and I saw her eyes light up mischieviously. "You know, in case you and Lisa need some alone time." She especially pronounced the word 'alone'.

I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. "Do you want me to whistle or pull my ear or something?" I laughed at her a bit embarrassed. It's not like I haven't thought about having Lisa to myself some time soon again. Maybe do some kissing without getting interrupted all the time.

Jisoo laughed too. "What about a secret word then? And when you say it, Rosé and me will get out of you guy's faces." she suggested with a teasing wink but I knew that behind her joking attitude, she really wanted to let me know that she would actually do that for me.

I huffed out air a little flustered. 

"Come on Jen, don't be embarrassed! Aren't you two like new lovers? Don't you want to be all over her all the time?"

I raised my eyebrows at her and shifted my weight from one foot to the other. "Doesn't the word 'lovers' imply sex? Cause it's only been a couple of days, so hold your horses Chu..."

"Yeah, whatever! You know what I mean though Jendeukie! I'd be happy to give you guys some space whenever you need it. It won't be so easy to come by with all four of us living under the same roof. There's not much to espace to, except your rooms." I could tell she was serious about this.

"Thanks, that's sweet of you... And I will let you know somehow when... we need it."

Jisoo lovingly pushed my shoulder, looking intently at my face. "You know, I've never seen you this smitten before. Not even with Kai..."

Kai. My ex, Kai. He's gone and forgotten but I still flinched a little when Jisoo said his name.

"Stop it!" I told her, cheeks heating up but I knew she was right. I've never felt this out of balance in a positive kind of way with someone before. Only with Lisa. Weird.
