Who knew a simple boat ride could be such a turn of events!?
Lisa was silent the whole way to our accommodation, clutching on to my hand. Rosie and I had booked us a nice little two-bedroom villa with a cosy living room and a tiny terrace in a jungly looking Resort. Naturally, as per my request, the Resort also had a pretty nice pool.
But right now I wasn't able to appreciate any of it since my head was still swimming with everything Rosie had told me about how broken Lisa really was.
Nevertheless she had opened herself up to me and put herself in a vulnerable position with me, which she was clearly afraid of. It only meant that she hadn't given up on love yet. That she wanted love in her life even though she knew it had the power to break her again.
Lisa stayed quiet when we checked into our rooms too. Only handing over her passport and then reclaiming my hand instantly as if she was afraid I might walk away when she let me go for too long.
When Lisa and I walked into the bedroom that was to be ours, she let her large backpack fall to the ground with a soft thud and sat down on the edge of the bed, burrying her face in her hands. I closed the door quietly and walked straight over to her.
I closed my fingers around both her wrists and pulled her hands away from her face with gentle force. She obeyed silently and tilted her head up to me. Her eyes were still red and a little watery and I knew she hated that I saw her like this but she did not push me away.
I let go of my flip flops and climbed into her lap, straddling her with my thighs. I brought her hands to hold onto my waist and cradled her head in my hands, pushing her into my body.
Her arms wrapped around me and she hugged me back tightly. We sat there on the edge of the bed for a good five minutes. Not saying anything, just holding each other impossibly close and breathing each other in.
"I'm sorry." I heard her mumble quietly against my chest eventually. I pulled away a little to kiss her forehead. "It's ok Love." The petname fell from my lips without thinking about it. I had called her Love before a few times but now I knew what it really meant when I said it to her. It was the closest thing I could do to tell her that I love her without telling her that I love her.
Because it was true. It was there. I couldn't ignore it any longer. I felt it every time I looked into her eyes. Every time she kissed my lips.
"I overreacted... because... my brain is fucked up..." she went on. I took her head into both of my hands, tilting it up to leave soft little kisses all over her face. She closed her eyes at my ministrations.
"I'm sorry too. For giving you the impression that I was flirting with that guy... I wasn't. I really really wasn't."
I placed consecutive kisses on her lips. She kept her eyes closed, kissing back everytime I touched her lips. "I know."
"I can't see myself flirting with anybody else but you." I confessed in a whisper, raking my fingers through her hair. Her eyes opened and she looked up at me with an unreadable expression. "I don't even notice anybody else but you." I told her honestly before landing a firmer kiss on her plumb lips. I noticed how she was breathing a bit heavier than before, her chest rising and falling more noticably.
"I only want you Lisa." I stated. I caressed her face with my fingers. Her beautiful, exotic face. Her big round doe eyes with that cute little beauty mark underneath. Her perfect nose and her even more perfect lips. The lips that I was addicted to. Her flawless, soft skin that smelled so good. I hadn't noticed that her eyes were swimming in tears again before she pulled me into her and desperately kissed me like she was drowning and I was her lifeboat.
