Karasuno has a practice match against Nekoma today! You and Kiyoko have been looking forward to this practice match for a while. You both had heard that Nekoma's volleyball team has some really cute guys... 'I don't know if I have time for that kind of thing right now, but it would be nice to have a boyfriend I suppose...' you say to Kiyoko who is sitting right in front of you. She looks back at you and smirks. 'I think you should give this dating thing a try,' she says. 'As long as it's not Oikawa, I'm happy to try!' You both burst into laughter. Daichi sighs. He seems to be more annoyed at Oikawa than you are. You switch your phone off, mostly to silence any notifications from the great king himself and try to get some rest. You doze off and have a dream in which you and Hinata swap bodies and you must play volleyball instead.
~a few hours later~
You are the last person to get out of the bus after you had all arrived. You had slept through the entire ride so you're still a little disoriented. You miss a step while exiting the bus and start falling toward the ground. Welp. Is this how it ends? you think to yourself, being a little overdramatic. Occupied by your thoughts, you don't realise that the impact never hit you. You open your eyes that you had closed in anticipation of the fall. Someone was holding you protectively. You look up to see a very tall, very handsome volleyball player, with black spiky hair with bangs. 'Wow...' you say without realising you had said it out loud. He heard you and it caused him to blush. He chose to ignore the comment and helps you stand up. 'Are you okay?' he asks. doki doki doki doki doki doki doki. His voice is so pretty. 'I- Uhm- yes I'm okay now. Thank you... I'm Sawamura Y/n by the way,' you stutter through your introduction. 'Kuroo Tetsuro' the boy says with a gentle smile, shaking my hand. What a pretty name... We silently walk towards the gym together. Once you enter, eyes were all on you once again. I will never get used to this. Why do they stare anyways? Daichi runs up to you. 'Y/n, what happened, why are you with Kuroo?' he demanded, his voice laced with annoyance. 'He saved me from a nasty fall,' you reply with a smile. Daichi's aura softened. 'Thank you Kuroo,' he says with a little smile. You look up at Kuroo who looks a little... sad? You get called over by the coach and Kiyoko. After saying goodbye to Kuroo and your older brother, you go to sit beside Kiyoko and watch the teams.
Kuroo's POV
Dang. Is the captain her boyfriend? Of course, he is, why else would he thank me for saving her. He called her y/n. First name basis already. I look to where she's sitting. She's talking and laughing with the other manager. I feel my face heat up. 'Why'd you have to be so Goddamn beautiful y/n chan...' I thought, not realising that I had also mumbled it aloud. My best friend Kenma chuckled softly. 'I didn't take you for the type of guy who believed in love at first sight,' he teased. I turn red. 'Let's focus on the match,' I reply. Kenma nodded in agreement.
I was distracted throughout the whole match, but I feel as though I played a lot better than I usually do. During the match, I frequently glanced over at y/n. A few times, she was already looking at me and our eyes met. We looked away, both our faces beet red. Her e/c eyes analysing the match were captivating. Tetsuro, we have literally had one conversation, I told myself. I was so deep in my thoughts that I had not noticed my name being called.
'Kuroo san?' It was y/n. I loved how sweet her voice sounded when she called my name. I wanted to hear more...
'Kuroo san? Are you okay?' she asks me. I am now. 'Yep, I'm okay.' I smiled at her. 'You've been spacing out a lot...' she says quietly. It's because of you. 'It's because of you.' FUCK. I was supposed to make something up. I blush furiously and look away. She goes silent. I look up at her, only to find that she's blushing hard like me. 'Well- I-I'm sorry,' she mumbles. She turned to walk away and I grabbed her wrist instinctively. 'Can I get your number?' I ask without thinking. She smiles softly. I haven't seen that smile before. I want to see more. 'Of course!' she replied. I gave her my phone and she put her number in. 'Oh wait, y/n san, will you not get in trouble with your boyfriend?' I mumble sadly. 'Boyfriend?' she asked, looking at me quizzically. 'I don't have a boyfriend,' she says. Aaaa music to my ears. Suddenly I notice Karasuno's captain walk towards us. 'D-Daichi sa-'
'Kuroo, what are you doing with my sister?'
SISTER? I celebrate internally. But now I have to deal with the brother...
'I wasn't doing anything I swear! We were just talking!' I say with my hands in the air. 'Aniki...' y/n says. God, she's perfect. 'Aniki, stop this. I came over to talk to him.' Daichi stares at his sister, dumbfounded. Does she not usually talk to boys? 'Well in that case I'll leave you be, for now.' He says walking away from us. Y/n sighs before turning to me. 'I'm sorry about that Kuroo...' she says with an apologetic smile. 'T-that's- no don't a-apologise,' I fucked that entire sentence up... She smiled at me and I smiled back. Eventually, she had to leave for Karasuno. I wanted to keep her. But at least I have her number, I think to myself, smiling like an idiot...
'Y/n san, I can't wait to see you again...'
Kenma laughed at me.
Y/n POV
'Kuroo, huh?' I say aloud, earning stares from some of the boys, including Daichi, as well as Kiyoko. No one mentioned it to spare me some embarrassment. I love them. I feel my eyelids getting heavy as I drift off back to sleep...
'Kuroo san, I can't wait to see you again...'
Daichi glared and Kiyoko laughed at me.
