                                                                                         Desaster!

We were having a sleepover and that's why we were riding. That's why we crossed into the trees with flowers on them. And now that's what got us in trouble. The woman said we were trespassing and wanted to be paid for it, mom said no and they started arguing. "Mom? What's going on?" I asked nervously,

"This woman claims that two young girl riders trespassed in her tree grove. Care to explain?" She asked. I froze,

"That was your tree grove?! The pretty one?! I thought it was part of our 50 acres!" I said. I was confused cause it seemed like our 50 acres were small, "We were galloping and we had 50 acres and- and," I spluttered to a halt. We were galloping! That's why it seemed so small! "I'm sorry, ma'am," I said looking her right in the eye, "I didn't realize that we trespassed, we were galloping and it all came to an end quickly and I didn't realize." I gushed.

"Well, if I catch you riding in my tree grove again I will charge you with trespassing!" The woman snapped. I realized that I knew that I was still new here. We had been  there for at least two days and I thought I had learned everything! But I still didn't know anything!

"Yes ma'am." I said politely. The lady grimaced and exited the house. She got in the truck and drove off. My face was burning. I was so embarrassed! "Mom, I'm so sorry." Mom's face was red,

"Just did you think you were doing, young lady!?" She said, she was definitely angry, maybe even embarrassed,

"Mom-" I said, "I'm sorry. I'll go outside now. Amber!" I called, "Let's go!" Me and Kelly and Amber and Forest walked outside. We got the horses groomed and tacked up again. They were only slightly tired. We all mounted up and practiced the barrels. We decided to ride on the rode. We ended up in front of the woman's house, the one with the tree grove. I dismounted and handed Kelly FreeReins' reins. She held them while I knocked on the woman's door. The woman opened it and was surprised to see us, Me, Kelly, Amber, and Forest,

"Can I help you?" The lady asked,

"Yes," I said, "May we ride in your tree grove?" I asked, hoping she'd say yes,

"Sure. Just don't wreck anything." The lady said, "Thank you!" I said and turned to walk away,

"Wait," The lady said, "I'm Amelia. I was wondering if you have a good amount of experience with horses?" She asked me and Kelly,

"I do," I admitted, "I took lots of riding lessons before I moved here and mom signed me up for the Cherry Town's Riding Academy For Girls," I said, "I'm Ruby, by the way."

"I have some horses that need training. I'll pay $50 for every horse you train and you can have unlimited time in my tree grove, your sister," She motioned to Amber, "She can help clean them, but you and-" She nodded at Kelly,

"Kelly." She said,

"Kelly, you and Kelly can train the horses and your little sister can help clean them." The lady, Amelia, offered,

"I, we, would love to! But..." I said,

"But what?" Amelia asked,

"I have to ask my mom," I said, "But I'm sure she'll be fine with it. I'll go ask," I said mounting back up, "Kel, Amber, Forest, stay here, I'll be right back." I said and galloped down the rode and back home. When I pulled FreeRein up in  my driveway I dismounted and tethered him to a fence then I burst inside. "Mom! Mom!" I screamed, mom came running into the living room,

"What?!" She said,

"Mom! The lady with the tree grove offered me, Kelly, and Amber a job! If I train one of her horses she'll pay me $50! She has heaps of horses that need training and said that for each horse me and Kel train she'll pay us each $50!!! And Amber will have to clean the horses! For each horse she cleans she'll get paid $50 too!!!!" I said, mom looked happy,

"Yes. You can do it." Mom said calmly. I shrieked with delight! Then drinking some water, I packed a picnic and with it in my arms ran outside where I stuffed it in my saddle bag. I mounted up and galloped back to Kel and Amber.

"She said we can do it!" I screamed. Kel and Amber cheered in their saddles, "Can we see the horses?" I asked. The lady, Amelia, led us to a huge paddock that had at least 80 horses in there!! "Those are your horses?!" I explained. They were all wild! There was one that was a beautiful mustang, "Who's this beauty?" I asked. It looked like a mare,

"A mustang, she is too wild for anyone. Once you've trained a lot of horses and you've found one you love you may have it. If there's room at your guys's places." Amelia said.

"Thanks." I said and she showed us where the tack and stuff was after we tethered our horses. I grabbed a Western bridle and saddle and put them on the fence separating the two stalls for the tacking/grooming station. Next I grabbed the grooming crate and then I set everything up. I went into the paddock and managed to catch a Chestnut looking mare. I led her to the station where I tied her and started grooming, next I tacked her up and led her into an enclosed arena, I mounted and got her used to everything. When I untacked her and groomed her and put her in a medium sized paddock she now knew to walk, trot, and canter. I worked with 10 horses in 5 hours. Kelly did the same and Amber groomed and washed 20 horses, we had heaps of money! We had 60 more to work with. On the first day I had earned $500! So had Kelly! Amber had earned $1,000!!!!!! We untied our horses and pony, mounted and left for my house. When we got home I untacked and groomed FreeRein and turned him out, Kel and Amber did the same. We went inside and played horse games on our laptops. It was time for dinner and so we came down. We told mom about the horses and showed her the money, "If we keep up like this I can pay for FreeRein and everything! So can Amber, but I can't pay for Forest." I said, eating. After we went upstairs and read some horse books. "I vote we go out and play some games with our horses and pony!" They all agreed and we ran downstairs and out the door. We had our horses chase us around and around. We ended up in the tree grove. We played there for a bit and then I went to Amelia's paddock and saw the mustang. She walked up to me and I fed her an apple. I stroked her face and murmured to her, "It's alright, You beautiful girl." I loved her. We went back home with our horses and put them in the paddock for the night.
