Okay so maybe the social groups didn't follow the whole 'movie thing', but gym class certainly did. No way did I expect coach to make us do laps, but you guessed it, he did.

I began to pull my hair back into a high pony, so it was off my face and secured it with a metallic black scrunchie. The other 2 girls did the same and then we began our laps, which after 1 lap got extremely tiring. If one thing is for sure, it is that I am not a runner. Holly ran at a similar pace to me but Isla sped off. I'm guessing she's on the track team because damn that girl can run.

I turned around to notice the boys had come out and were catching up to us, I caught eye contact with Grayson and he winked. I turned around quickly to stop myself from blushing, but what I didn't stop myself from was bumping into the person in front and that is why I am now lay flat on my bum on the floor. I let out a groan. Urgh way to go Ari way to go. A hand is outstretched before me and hoists me back to my feet. 'Literally falling for me ey Ari?' I look up to find a smug Grayson.

'Falling for you? Pft hell no, I'm just a clumsy person' I snap back. 'A clumsy person' really? That's the best you could do? And now my mind is talking to me. I'm officially insane.

I'm brought back to reality however when I hear Grayson laughing before running off 'whatever you say Aria'

'Oh my gosh Aria! Are you okay?' Holly runs over worried.

'Yeah Hols, I'm fine' I assure Holly

'And how does Grayson O'Hara know your name?' She practically screams at me

Wait O'Hara, where have I heard that name before? Huh no surely not.

'O'Hara? Isn't that the principle's name?' I ask shocked.

'Yes he's the principles the son, but that doesn't answer my question!!' She shrieks again.

Wow, I didn't see that coming.

'Oh yeah, we met this morning, he was in the principle's office and then he showed me to homeroom. What's with the shrieks anyway?' I question.

'He's the most popular boy in the school, I'm surprised he even looked at you.. No offence' she giggles.

I laugh, 'gee wow Hols, way to make a girl feel good. But just to add to your shock, he invited me to his party later'

'We can get ready together! His parties are the best!' She says with yet another shriek.

'So I've heard' I mumble whilst we walk back to the changing room. I can't help but hear a group of girls next to me talking about some sort of dance trials after school.

--

After speaking to Holly&Isla, I discovered they were on the dance team and trials were being held after school for 2 new members. Which is why now I'm out on the field stretching. Dance is the one thing I brought from Cheshire here with me, I just love it and get such a rush. You just lose yourself to the music and express all your unspoken thoughts and feelings through your movements. It's truly amazing.

'Aria, your up' Freya, the dance captain, announces.

Okay breathe Aria, you can do this. I lie on the floor and begin my routine, this was one of my favourite solo's I choreographed for a completion back last year but I still love to perform it now. It's so simple but the leaps and spins add so much dimension and of course there's my hidden story that lies within every dance.

I finish my routine with a head roll and then drop down to the floor, lying in the same position I started in, only this time my breathing is heavier and I can feel a thin layer of sweat forming. Applause fills my ears as I stand to me feet.

'Oh my gosh, that was incredible!' Freya compliments.

'Where did you learn to dance like that?!' Another girl asks.

'Thank you! And I've been dancing since I was 2, so I guess it's just part of me now' I shrug.

'Well I don't even need to see the rest to know that you already have a spot on the dance team. So welcome to the team Aria' Freya cheers.

'Thankyou so much!!' I say before being squished by my two friends Isla&holly, who are screaming and cheering for me.

'Oh my, that was phenomenal' Isla compliments.

'And now you are on the team with us! This calls for extra celebrations at Grayson's party later! Holly squeals.

We all giggle before agreeing.

..

I walk back to the changing rooms, Holly&Isla have to stay for some sort of meeting so I head back myself. Excitement is still rushing through me, I can't believe I made it, I mean I've been so used to doing solo's as our school back home never had any dance teams, that being part of a team just sounds so fun.

Once I'm in the changing room I pull off my t-shirt and grab my hoodie that's hung up on the peg.

'Nice bra Ari' I hear a male voice say, I quickly pull my hoodie down before turning to see who it was. But what I wasn't expecting was Grayson and 2 of his friends, who I think I recognise from his table at lunch staring at me. I feel my cheeks heat up.

'The red matches the shade of your cheeks' he laughs. Which only makes me more embarrassed. Omg, what are they doing in the girl's changing room?!

As if they read my mind, the boy with the messy black curls questions 'what are you doing in the boy's changing room?'

The boys?! Oh my. 'the boys?! I had no idea' I splutter

'Of course you didn't' All three taunt, laughing at my embarrassment.

'Shut upppp' I groan at them. It's clear I'm never going to live this one down. I so thought my first day was going smoothly as well. But first gym class and now this. Damn my clumsiness..the boy changing room instead of the girls..seriously?! Urghh!

'Anyway..I'm Charlie' the boy with black curls says. His green eyes created such a contrast to his raven hair,it was unusual.

'And I'm Nate' the other boy introduces himself too, he has like a semi afro thing going on, but he makes it work somehow. I notice a trickle of sweat down the side of his face..they must have been training or something.

'Nice to meet you, I'm Aria and I'm sorry about the erm incident earlier' I blush.

'We're not complaining don't worry' Grayson winks.

I gasp and nudge his shoulder 'Urgh shut up'

They all break out in laughter and I take that as my signal to leave before I do something to embarrass myself further.

'Whatever, bye guys' I wave before turning on my heels.

'See you tonight' they reply in unison.

Ahh yes, the party, how could I forget? I best go and get ready..quick.

I can feel something interesting happening tonight.
