"Everything okay, Aspen?" O'Neil's concerned voice cuts through the phone line into my ear.

"I'm not sure." I say, glancing over at Giselle in the driver's seat of her Mini Cooper. "You said Bash Walker and Jared Hoskins had an alibi that night?"

"I did. Why has something come up?"

I wipe my damp forehead and turn the AC to full blast on the dashboard of the Mini Cooper.

I rack my brain, wanting to be sure I get the details of the lie correct, "Jared told me he saw Bash go to his room alone, but now I just found out that Foxy actually went upstairs with him." My eyes fill with tears from being in a constant state of overwhelm.

"Mr. Hoskins told you this?"

"Yeah." I sniffled from the impending tears, "Bash was right there when he said it, as well as a few others."

"That contradicts his original statement. Aspen, this information is confidential. You do realize if we catch the killer and take him to trial it could be considered a mistrial because of the information I'm divulging to you?"

"I'm not telling anyone." I glance again at Giselle who looks concerned. I have no plans on telling anyone I know how Foxy was killed or anything else O'Neil tells me.

"If I wasn't concerned for your safety, I wouldn't have told you anything." He states.

"I know."

"The statements we got from Mr. Walker and Mr. Hoskins state that Mr. Walker took your sister to his room with the intent to have sex with her."

My eyes cloud and my chin trembles.

"Mr. Walker stated he doesn't have any memory beyond going to his room. And we have three witnesses, one of them is Jared Hoskins, stating they saw Foxfire leave Mr. Walker's room, alone."

I clear my twisting throat, "And the two others?" Referring to the witnesses but trying to be careful with what I say because Giselle is beside me.

"Coleson Baker and Holly Higol."

Coleson and Jared saw her? Why wouldn't they tell me this? And who the fuck is Holly Higol?

Giselle pulls into the large gravel parking lot lined with willow trees and a wood fence with signs reading 'No Fishing'.

"You okay?" She asks me and I nod quickly.

"Yes, I'm good." Talking with the Sorority girls will be put on the back burner until I get the truth from Jared and Bash and also to hear what Coleson has to say.

"If you want to leave or anything-"

"No, I want to talk to these guys and catch them in their lies." I say, unbuckling my seat belt and throwing the door open. I've got no idea why they are lying to me, and I still don't think Bash killed her. But there has to be a reason for this lie.
