Right now we're practicing Don't Stop Believing. Only now that Rachel's left Quinn gets the solo. She and I are friends now, but that doesn't mean I agree with this choice. She has a very soft voice, and she keeps throwing up. They're worried about her dancing, but I'm more worried about her overworking herself and not eating enough. You have to eat a lot when you work out, and if you're throwing up, and if you're pregnant and she barely eats as it is.
"A singer in a smoky room," Finn
"A smell of wine and cheap perfume" Quinn
"For a smile they can share the night, it goes on and on and on and on..." The music stops as Quinn runs out of the room. I wanted to follow her, but she told me not to. She hates other people seeing her throw up.
"Quinn, you okay?" 'Mr. Schue asks as she runs out the door.
"I think she just had a bad breakfast burrito," Finn explains. I look him in the eyes. How stupid is he, does he really expect us to believe that.
"Can we please talk about the giant elephant in the room?" Kurt speaks.
"Your sexuality?" Santana asks. I give her a glare.
"Rachel-- we can't do it without her," Kurt explains.
"That's not true." Mr. Schue tells him. "We might have to layer Santana and Mercedes over Quinn's solo, but... we'll be fine."
"Maybe for the invitationals, but not for the sectionals and certainly not the regionals," Artie tells him. Oh my god. I feel like I have to baby everyone. If you lose a good singer, find songs that match you and sing them. Don't try to give the songs she would sing to another person.
"Wheelchair kids right. That Rachel chick makes me want to light myself on fire, but she can sing," Puck speaks up.
"Okay, Rachel left, guys. She's gone. Now, if we're gonna make this thing work, we can't look back," Mr. Schue tells them.
"Wait Mr. Schue!" Kurt calls.
"Yes, Kurt."
"I had an idea." Mr. Schue looks at him to explain. "What if we give Blaire her solo." He turns to look at me, and then back at Mr. Schue. "She is a fantastic singer if you haven't noticed." My eyes widen. I can't sing the solo. What is Kurt thinking?
"Well, that's up to Blaire." Mr. Schue looks at me. "Do you want the solo?" I shake my head fast. I can't sing up there as myself. The only times I've sung in front of people by myself is when I was undercover. He sighs. "All right, take five, guys."
I go over to Kurt. "What the hell was that?" I ask him
He rolls his eyes. "If you took the solo we wouldn't have any problems. You are a great singer. Maybe even better than Rachel if you actually tried." I look at him. "Oh yeah, I know you don't try during Glee. You sing at my house and you are incredible, but here you sing and it's like an average person," he explains.
Mercedes, Tina, and Artie come up.
"You should've taken the solo." Mercedes crosses her arms.
"Yeah, y-y-you're a great singer."
"If you had taken it we wouldn't be having these problems," Artie says.
"Alright, enough! I'm not taking the solo and you guys can stop telling me I should've. Only if he brings in some old person to sing it, then I will step in." I laugh.
"Oh my god, that is so ridiculous. He would never bring an old person into Glee," Kurt laughs. We all laugh at the thought of a guy his age in a group of teenagers singing at the invitationals.
