Because the case they were working on was in Akron, Canton, they had a long drive ahead of them.
"Hey, Sam," Dean said. "Why don't you drive us back?" Sam froze. "You," he said. "You, want me, to drive?" Dean smiled. At this point Sam knew what was gonna happen. Dean shook his head. "You really thought I was gonna let YOU drive? Ha! That's funny! Get in the car." Sam groaned. "I don't know why I didn't see that coming." Sam and Dean laughed. "Hey, Dean?" Sam asked. "Hm?" "Can I sit in the back?" Sam asked. "I'm tired and it seems like you and Cass have a little catching up to do." Dean blushed. Even when Sam talks about Cass he blushes. "Uh," Dean said. "Sure." Sam smiled. "Thanks."
At first, Cass was confused on why HE was sitting in the front instead of Sam. When he sat down, he looked in the back to see Sam bunched up under a blanket. "Sam's tired. That's why," Dean said as Cass turned back to face the dashboard. "Oh," Cass said. "I need to tell Dean. I need too," Cass thought to himself. "Dean has to know," he thought he said it in his head. Dean looked at him. "Dean has to know what?" Cass froze. "Uh- Nothing," he said, hoping that Dean would just drop it. "Cass," He said. "Tell me." Cass cleared his throat. " I don't know how to say this but, that night-" Dean cut him off. "Cass, what happened that night, was my fault. You left me thinking that I didn't care. Thinking that you deserved to be by yourself. I couldn't bare living with myself."
Cass just stared at Dean blankly. "I- What I was going to say was, that night that I left, was the most love I've ever felt. And I know you must be wondering what I meant by 'I love you'." Dean's eyes went wide. "Oh no." He thought to himself. "He's gonna tell me that he didn't mean that he loved me in a romantic way." Cass looked at him. "Dean?" Dean snapped back into reality. "huh?" "Did you hear anything that I said," Cass asked. Dean didn't know to say. "did you say anything after "And I know you must be wondering what I mean by 'I love you'?" Dean smiled nervously. "Yes," Cass said, glaring at him. "I did." Dean looked back at the road. "Oh. My bad. Would you mind repeating it?" Cass shook his head. "I said that me saying 'I love you" was going to be hard, not only for me, but also for you. I was hiding for awhile. I didn't truly feel like myself before I told you. And yes, I meant it romantically. I have been in love with you since I 'Gripped you tight and raised you from Perdition'."
Dean's eyes went wide. He harshly pulled over, waking up a very grumpy Sam. Sam sat up and looked around. He then looked at Dean and Cass. Dean put the car in park, and looked at Cass. At this point, the fallen angel didn't know what happened. "Uh- Dean? Are you okay? Did you almost hit something? What happened?" Sam just kept watching Dean's expression. Dean continued to stare at Cass. "Why," he said, now looking down. At this point, Sam, still being half asleep, blinked his eyes and laid back down. "Well, that's creepy. Goodnight, guys. Oh, and good luck, Cass." Sam was right. That is creepy. Cass even had thought that Dean had be possessed. "Uh-" Dean looked up again.
"Why didn't you tell me? I would of been there, I was always there.." Cass then realized what Dean was talking about. "I didn't want to tell you because you seemed to still be figuring stuff out, and whenever I do get the courage to tell you, your either mad at me or dealing with another apocalypse." Sam grunted. He sat back up. "Alright, since you idiots wanna pull over and wake me up, tell me what's going on." Cass opened his mouth to speak, but Dean put his hand over it. Cass tried not to blush. He then had a quick flash back, remembering when he did this to Dean except against a wall. "No, Sam," Dean said, his hand still on Cass's mouth. "You don't get to know." Cass blinked a couple times, not knowing whether he should move his crush's hand or not.
Sam started smiling. Dean didn't notice at first, but then saw him. "What? What's so funny?" Same pointed to Dean's hand. "YOUR HANDS' ON CASS'S MOUTH!" Sam burst out laughing when he saw Dean's face. Dean's eyes were wide when he finally realized he still had his hand over Cass's mouth. He quickly pulled away, noticing that Cass was as red as a tomato. "Uh.." Dean started to speak but Cass interrupted. "It's fine. Can we just go home now?" Dean looked at the road, then at Cass. "Yeah, sure thing." Dean put the car into drive, and pulled back in the road. Dean wanted to finish this. He wanted to tell Cass that he also felt the same way. The entire time, just like Cass. He didn't care if Sam was there. If Cass and Dean did start to date, he didn't care if Sam didn't support the two. He would get a small job, and save up to get a place just for Cass and himself. He didn't think that Sam wouldn't support, thought just came up every now and then. And it hurt Dean, real bad. But right now, Dean had to get them all back home. So he didn't bring it up for the rest of the car ride.
