The sky grew dark behind the surrounding buildings; the previous swirls of pink now fading into grey. One by one the stars dotted the night sky, each adding a little more life to the silent night.

I opened up my window entirely to let the pleasant evening breeze into my room. Resting my arms on the window sill, I sighed in content, admiring the way the stars seemed to wink every once in a while. It was rare to find such a beautiful sight in the city, as the lights from below often faded out those from above.

I quickly checked my phone for the time.
10:32 p.m. Yeosang would be here any moment now.

I quietly made my way over to my bedroom door, making sure to lock it for in case anyone decided to barge into the room in the middle of the night. It was highly improbable though, since I've already told everyone I was going to bed, but you could never be too careful.

A sudden gust of wind entered the room and blew some of my notes off my desk.
"Ah no."
I hurried to pick them up before their order got mixed up.

"Need help?" an all too familiar voice asked. I turned around to see a smirking Yeosang leaning in by my window.
"Yeosang!" I ran over to him, hugging him despite the wall that was partially seperating us.
"I thought you didn't want your parents knowing you were going out," he chuckled.
"I don't..."
"But you just practically yelled out my name." A cheeky smile made its way onto Yeosang's cheeks.

I clasped my hand over my mouth. I slowly retreated back to my door, placing my ear against the wooden surface to listen for any approaching footsteps. Yeosang laughed and climbed in through the window. Then he began picking up the rest of the scattered notes.

"All clear?" he asked as he placed them down in a neat stack.
"I think so," I whispered back.
"Are you sure they won't find out?"
I nodded confidently. "Even if they do, I'm sure they won't lose their minds. They'll figure out I'm with you. They trust you."
"Alright, come on then." Yeosang smiled and walked back to the window.
"Just a moment!"

I ran back to my closet to rummage through my clothes for something warm. The first piece of clothing my eyes landed on was a grey hoodie that rightfully belonged to Yeosang. He once lent it to me before we became a couple, but I never got the chance to give it back to him until we were official. Of course then he told me I could keep it, as a reminder of him when he wasn't by my side.

I quickly slid the hoodie over my head and walked over to my window where Yeosang was waiting for me outside. His cheeks turned a deep shade of red when he noticed me wearing his hoodie.

"I like your hoodie," he smiled shyly.
"I think you mean your hoodie." I giggled and took his hand.
"Okay, our hoodie," he replied while interlacing our fingers.
"Our hoodie," I repeated to myself. "I like that."
Yeosang was such a sweetheart.

With a flustered expression, he cleared his throat. "So, where do you want to go first?"
"To get food of course. You know, chicken and some soda." I flashed him an excited smile which he gladly returned.
"You're on."

Yeosang led us to one of his favourite takeaway shops. I had no clue which way we were heading, so I just held onto his hand and followed. I had to admit that I was a little nervous of my parents finding out I was gone, but the adrenaline and excitement of exploring the city at night was stronger.

The walk through the different districts in the city was quite soothing. Some areas were brightly lit with dazzling colours, flickering shop signs, and fairy lights. Time didn't seem to be much of a problem, as the street overflowed with other civilians. The night markets were alive with the scent of food. I was in awe.

We wandered in between the different stalls before continuing on our original path. A small park came into view up ahead. There were a few streetlights near its entrance, with multiple little garden lights trailing further along the cobblestone pathway into the park.

"We're almost there," Yeosang commented while we made our way through the park. I smiled at him. In the dim lighting, I was able to make out the faded colours of autumn that surrounded us. The thought of the nearing winter made me shiver.

I caught sight of a quirky building across the park. There was a sign, with multicolour Korean writing on it, hanging above the door.
"Is that it?" I asked while pointing at the shop.
"Yes. You'll love it."

After a while we entered through the door of the tiny takeaway shop. I didn't let go of Yeosang's hand for one moment.
"Wooyoung!" Yeosang called out to a guy with dark hair who was busy stacking up some takeaway cups. His eyes sparkled once he noticed us.
"Oh hello, Yeosang!" he greeted. "And y/n, is it?"
I nodded and offered him a smile.
"Ah, Yeosang's told me a lot about you. What can I get you two tonight? The usual?" Wooyoung directed his gaze back to Yeosang as he asked this. Yeosang nodded and ordered two additional sodas.

We patiently waited for Wooyoung to finish our order, which didn't take too long.
"Here you are. By the way, you two are really cute together." Wooyoung giggled when he saw his friend looking away shyly.
"Thanks, Wooyoung." I smiled at him before taking the two soda cans from the counter. Yeosang carried his holy bucket of chicken himself.

We waved goodbye to Wooyoung and walked out into the night again. It was almost a quarter to midnight now.
"Shall we go to my place?" Yeosang asked.
"Yep. Lead the way," I chuckled. I hadn't eaten dinner, and my stomach was making all kinds of grumbling noises. The sooner we could reach Yeosang's apartment, the better.

Yeosang's apartment wasn't too far away from the takeaway shop. As soon as we got to the stairway that lead to his apartment, I dashed up them as quick as I could. Yeosang, on the other hand, was much more careful, afraid to drop his chicken. I continued up the stairs until I reached the rooftop. I immediately stared up into the beautiful night sky. Wisps of clouds were partly covering up patches of stars. The moon hid behind one of them.

Yeosang called me over to sit with him on the edge of the roof. I obliged and sat down, momentarily laying my head on his shoulder. I glanced at the bucket in his hands.

"Wait, why did you only get one bucket of chicken? You never share your chicken, do you?" I tilted my head, awaiting a reply from him.
"I don't usually share, but tonight I'll share with you, just because it's you."

"Kang Yeosang, you are the sweetest human being."
"Don't remind me, otherwise I might take back what I just said," he replied with a smirk.
"Fine. But I do love you. You know that?"
He had already stuffed a piece of chicken into his mouth. He nodded with puffy cheeks.
"I wuv you too," he replied with his mouth still full.
I giggled. "More than chicken?"

Yeosang stopped chewing and gave me a serious look.
"I'm sorry! I won't push the boundaries again," I laughed.
"I'm just messing with you. I'll choose you over chicken." He paused. "Unless you make me mad."
"Excuse me." I swatted him on the shoulder, earning a laugh from him.

"Now take some chicken before I eat all of it myself."
Without hesitancy I took a piece. It warmed my heart to share Yeosang's favourite food with him. It was a rare moment and one to cherish. Along with the view of the surrounding city lights, I wouldn't trade this moment for anything else.
