a/n: My sincerest apologies for the curse word in this chapter - I don't really like using curse words in my writing, but there really wasn't another word that was more fitting >.<

Even though you were tired, you couldn't sleep. You groaned when you rolled onto your side for what felt like the thousandth time. You blamed your little game of truth or dare with the boys for your sleeplessness.
But mentally resenting them and yourself wasn't going to make you fall asleep.
A few minutes later, you found yourself in the kitchen, scanning through the contents of the refrigerator for a 2 a.m. snack. Food seemed like the only thing that could keep you sane after such an eventful night.
Someone walked into the kitchen - you could tell by the sound of their bare feet on the cold tiled floor.
"Y/n?"
With the peanut butter jar in hand, you turned around. You didn't know whether to feel glad or annoyed. San, in grey sweatpants and a black muscle tank top, stood in the doorway. He didn't look like he had been asleep at all. His eyes were alive with that hint of mischief they had had when you first met him. Here. In this same kitchen. Also at 2 a.m.
If he came any closer to you now, resisting his charm was a battle you were going to lose.
By now, all the sleepiness in your body had been replaced with alertness. Or was it excitement?
No, you could not let his utterly ridiculous allure get to you.
"Why are we both in the kitchen at 2 a.m. again?"
San leaned against the doorframe, cocking his head to the side. He was smirking. "Because it was fate."
You narrowed your eyes at him, ignoring how his smirk made your body temperature rise.
"Yes, it was fate for me and my very healthy post-midnight snack to meet here at 2 a.m. A true love story, don't you think?"
You turned back to the fridge, that was still open, to take out the leftover pizza from earlier. Hongjoong had paid for the meal again - you were pretty sure the poor man's wallet was empty now. The peanut butter jar was placed back into the cupboard. There was no way you were going to eat a spoonful of that when someone else was in the kitchen to witness you struggling to swallow it.
"You like playing hard to get, don't you?"
"Yes I do."
San folded his arms, frowning. "If you like it so much, then why did you let Wooyoung kiss you?"
You glanced back at him over your shoulder. Then you shrugged, as if it was no big deal. "Because it was part of the game. There's nothing more to it." With your back turned to San, you took a bite of your pizza and waited for his comeback.
He didn't say anything.
Instead, he had moved so quickly and quietly that you only noticed when you turned around and he was practically pressed up against you. Both his hands rested on the countertop behind you, leaving you trapped in between his arms. You were glad you had put the pizza slice back down just before, otherwise it would have dropped onto the floor by now.
You tried not to show how flustered you felt, so you leaned back as far as possible. But you weren't a cat who could bend every vertebrae of its spine without breaking something. And it didn't help that San leaned forward too.
"Are you sure? Because you were in that room with him for a long time," he said, poking the inside of his cheek with his tongue. He was so close that you could feel the warmth of his breath.
