this is based off a short imagine I wrote of Tom Holland back in 2019 ♡

You were laying on your bed, staring up at the ceiling. Anticipation was building up inside of you. Yunho was in the living room preparing a surprise for you. It was your birthday and he had told you that he had gotten you something special. You hoped it would compensate for the immense boredom you were currently experiencing, but knowing Yunho, it definitely would.

He had told you to wait in the bedroom of course, and so you were, trying to wish past the time. You sighed. The white panels on the ceiling really weren't anything interesting to look at, so you rolled over onto your stomach, folding your arms in front of you. You had no idea how long Yunho was going to take, so maybe it was worth the shot to take a quick nap. Waiting here was quite tiring after all.

But just as you closed your eyes, a set of footsteps approached from the hallway and the door swung open. You immediately sat up, despite being a bit sad on the inside that you weren't able to take that quick nap. You were met with a bright crimson rose extended towards you. It almost touched the tip of your nose, and it would have if Yunho had just stretched forward with his long arms a little bit more.

"Happy birthday once again, Sweetheart!"

Your first instinct was to giggle. "Thank you again!" You immediately tackled him in a hug, for the umpteenth time that day, forgetting that Yunho was still holding the fragile rose in his hand.

"Woah, calm down! The rose!"

In an attempt to save the rose from suffering any damage (and because he wanted to hug you back), he tossed it onto the bed. Since there was now nothing keeping him from holding onto you, he wrapped his arms around you, relishing in your warmth.

"So, is the surprise ready yet?" you asked after holding onto him for a while.

"Yes. As ready as it'll ever be," he chuckled. "But, I'll have to blindfold you first."

Yunho was always so dramatic when it came to presents and birthdays, and today was no exception. He took out a piece of black fabric which he secured around your head with ease.
"Alright, now hold my hand."

As soon as your hand touched his, he gripped onto it fiercely and pulled you out of the room with him. He almost seemed to be more excited about your present than you were.

"Yunho! Slow down! There's no need to be so rushed," you laughed.

"But aren't you excited for your surprise?"

"Of course I am! But I don't want to fall face flat on the floor if I accidentally trip over a rug or something."

"Oh right, you are blindfolded." Yunho gave an embarrassed little laugh before he let go of your hand and walked up behind you. He rested his hands on your hips to guide you forward. With a man as tall and strong as Yunho, it's self-explanatory that you'll be pushed forward with a little more force and therefore a little more speed. Well, you eventually nearly started to jog thanks to his excitement, until at last he just picked you up bridal style and carried you to the living room couch.

"So when can I take off the blindfold?" you asked, still in the midst of a fit of laughter. "The curiosity is eating me alive."

"Not yet, Sweetheart. And you know what they say: curiosity killed the cat," Yunho said in a playful tone. If you didn't have the blindfold on, you would have rolled your eyes at him.

"Just hurry up already," you chuckled.

"On it!"

After Yunho had put you down on the couch, he quickly left the room. He disappeared into the dining room, which was near the corridor; you could tell because the door always squeaked whenever it was opened. When he came back, you assumed that he carried a cardboard box, since he tapped his fingers against its sides. You could've sworn you heard a little yelp from the direction of the corridor though, like a puppy signalling that he's in need of affection. Yunho coughed almost instantaneously, trying to hide the mysterious sound.
