Mingi's POV

I was drizzling some cream into a customer's latte when the doorbell of the cafe chimed, signalling the arrival of a new customer. Once I finished pouring the heart shape, I glanced up. A beautiful girl walked in, with snowflakes caught in her long hair and stuck on her jacket. She tried to brush it off before being greeted by Wooyoung, who gave her a welcoming smile.

The girl returned a smile; one that could conjure butterflies in any man's stomach. I tried to ignore the fluttering feeling in my chest. I barely knew her anyway.

I momentarily glanced down to the cup of latte I had just finished preparing for an impatient businessman. All that was left to do was to find San, so he could give the snobbish man his latte. I shuddered at the thought of that man being dissatisfied with it.

As if called upon, San suddenly appeared beside me, eyeing up the cup of latte too.
"Eh, when you're done staring at the particularly interesting cup, may I take it away?" San asked. I didn't have time to glare at him, so I just shoved the drink in his hands so he could leave. As usual, he was showcasing his dimple smile when he left and passed by the ladies' tables. I rolled my eyes.

I averted my attention back to the mystery girl, who was now walking towards a table in the far corner of the cafe.

If I wasn't mistaken, she looked a little sad. The smile Wooyoung had received from her was long gone, now replaced by a sombre expression. Why would she be sad? No one deserves to be unhappy.

Before I knew what I was doing, I stopped Wooyoung before he could walk over to her table.

If anyone was going to be her waiter today, it would be me.

Your POV

Today has been one of the worst days of your life. At work you messed up your chances for that promotion you wanted so badly. If only you hadn't forgotten boss Park's USB at home. Apart from that, the heartbreak from your recent breakup was eating you alive. You knew you had to move on and forget, but it was going to take a while for you to heal.

For now though, you had to find a way to distract yourself from your thoughts. The desperate need to get away from your familiar surroundings at home dragged you here. The cafe had opened up quite recently, and apparently it got a whole bunch of good reviews so far. Compared to the wintry streets, the atmosphere inside of the cafe was cosy and inviting. In here anyone could forget about their troubles waiting for them on the doorstep.

Your eyes wandered back to the guy who welcomed you into the cafe. He was still at the door, now welcoming a young couple. You didn't get to read his nametag, but he was kinda cute. Not to mention his smile. No doubt his smile was the reason the cafe was so busy.

You observed the other customers that were seated across the continuous line of tables. They all looked so happy. Even the other staff members, a pink-haired one and a blonde one, were radiating happiness like they had no worries at all.

You sighed, glancing out the window at the snow-covered street. It was peaceful to watch the snowflakes adorn the naked branches of the trees as they fell down from the dark clouds.
