Timeline: 2012, Before Thor: The Dark World
• • • • •An agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. never broke rules, and more importantly, they never rendezvoused with the enemy. Her parents taught her that before they had been killed. Although typically their enemy wasn't anyone an agent wanted to rendezvous with, he was different. She had tried to resist his ways, but something about the God just kept her captivated.
Despite Loki almost causing the demolition of the human race in 2011, something about him made Agent [L/N] fall. He was the villain, the enemy, someone illegal for her to admire. The two grew close while he was being held on the Helicarrier before invading New York. She was his guard and was only removed when Natasha became worried the young Agent would be persuaded too easily by the God of Mischief.
Loki had tried to make [Y/N] release him, but she was stubborn. She knew her job no matter how much she wanted to disobey. It took him a little bit to invent a new plan, and at first, his lascivious conversations with the Agent were simply to get her removed from her position. However, the more he talked to her, the more he became fond of her. He was irritated by the fact his chats with her turned into something he enjoyed, yet his fondness didn't cease when Natasha dismissed the girl.
Even after he had escaped from his cell, his thoughts still lingered of [Y/N]. There was something about her that he couldn't shake, whether it was her laugh, her sarcastic sense of humor, her smile, or simply her entire being. She had left her position to find him, feeling that he was more important. Even with the Tesseract in hand, he didn't have the heart to pull her under his control. She seemed to trust him, seeing the good that he could bring. She made him see everything a bit differently, but his plan was already too far in motion for him to change. The moments he had spent close to her he realized how fascinated he was by her. He knew the time would come where the so-called Avengers would have him removed, but he had promised the girl he would be back for her. When he was defeated, his brother took him back to Asgard as a prisoner.
At first, [Y/N] was relieved the God had left Earth, but each day she missed him more. Human men just couldn't compare. They all were so boring and never seemed to be unique. A few months after she comes to terms with never seeing God again, she was alone in her run-down apartment when she heard his whisper: "[Y/N]". She had turned around, her eyes wandering in every direction for the being the voice belonged to. Minutes passed and she had given up with little luck.
A few days after that, she swore she saw him in a crowd while wandering back to her apartment. She had mumbled his name in question, walking forward towards him, but he was gone before she got to him. She felt as if she was being haunted by a ghost. There's no way the God of Mischief could be back on Earth.
A week had passed since her last encounter. Fury had given her a few days off due to "inability to focus due to an overworked mind", something he seemed to completely make up on the fly just to get her out. She had decided to spend the day lounging around her apartment, taking a mental health sort of day. Upon getting out of the steaming shower, she heard footsteps. Hair wrapped up in a towel, along with a larger towel tightly wrapped around her body, she carefully took the handheld pistol from underneath her bathroom sink. Pointing it in front of her, she cautiously opened the bathroom door and there he stood.
"L-Loki?" Her voice shook and she carefully lowered the gun. He smiled, raising his eyebrows at the fact he had caught her at such a perfect moment.
