Warning: Violence, death
Word count: 1326 words
Quick A/N: This one doesn't have [Y/N] in it as much, so it's focused on Loki. This is my least favorite one so far so I will probably go back and change it. Hope you enjoy! ~June 22, 2021

He was alone. Utterly and completely alone. He knew the Dark Elves were here, but all he could do was sit and wait in his cell. They had come for the red power that his brother's woman possessed, so the destruction they caused was because of Thor.

He heard the ruckus of their arrival from the prison he was located in but he was only informed by his lover. She had come to the wall of his cell, looking around, then using her magic to slip inside.

"They're here, my love," Her voice was filled with worry and panic. He calmly held both her hands in his. "I don't know how much time we have. I'm supposed to be guarding Lady Jane and the Queen-"

He kissed her lips to calm her nerves, moving his hands to her waist. "[Y/N], darling," His voice always seemed to be calm around her. Something about the woman always kept him stable and gentle. "Take a deep breath, my dear. It will all be fine. They only want the power that Jane has." He kissed her forehead, keeping his arms wrapped the woman he loved.

She nodded. "I love you, Loki Laufeyson. More than anything in the worlds. I'll be back soon, my love." He smiled and she disappeared into golden dust. All he could do now was sit and wait.

Hours seemed to pass, although to him it could've just been mere minutes. His attention only left his current action of tossing a ball into the air when he saw a Kronan wandering the hallway of the prison. He watched quietly as the creature seemed to place a bomb into the cell filled with other prisoners and watched as they soon were disintegrated. He stood up as the creature walked by his cell, in which it stopped to stare at him. Loki tilted his head in caution, but the creature walked off without a word.

He paced in his cell as he waited for [Y/N] to come back. He felt it had been far too long. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. Something felt different, off. He could've sworn he heard her scream his name from a distance, as if she was in pain. Two guards ran into the prison and the God's gaze turned to them.

"What happened down here?" The tallest one shouted to him.

"A Kronan came in and disintegrated your prisoners. What happened up there?" He almost shot the question. He could no longer be quiet and controlled.

"Dark elves," The shorter one muttered. "They were not kind."

"Hundreds of casualties." The taller one nodded.

Loki was silent. He didn't know how to react. Surely the love of his life was not one of those hundreds. Surely she was alright with his mother. "Do you know if my mother and her handmaidens are alright?"

The two glanced at each other. "Her highness and several of her handmaidens were killed. Our greatest apologies." They both kneeled, bowing their heads.

"Which handmaidens?" Loki shouted, his voice cracking.

"The ones bearing magic." The shortest one spoke quietly. Loki felt his heart drop and shatter into uncountable pieces. He was frozen with tears in his eyes. He turned to the solid white wall in his cell and shook his head before grabbing the furniture and smashing it over and over again upon the ground. He screamed in frustration, in pain, in agony, in loss and defeat. The guards had rushed over to stop him, but what could they possibly do.
