Quick A/N: Hey y'all! This one is inspired by the song "The Walls are Way Too Thin" by Holly Humberstone! Some of her lyrics are included in this imagine so I've written them in italics with single quote marks (I will not be taking credit for those lines). Hope you enjoy! ~July 30, 2021

She heard the girl's laughs come through the wall as [Y/N] laid on her bed, hugging her pillow. Oh, how she envied that woman and wanted to be her laying with the God of Mischief, but she knew it could never happen. He didn't view her the way she wanted to be, and instead simply viewed her as a child as he did with Peter. She placed her earbuds in, sick of the 'heavy whispers from the next room' and eventually it became the only thing she could hear.

The next morning she woke up and left her room, making sure to slam her door as she walked to the kitchen. She didn't bother to make herself look presentable, since there was no one to try and impress. Steve stood with a mug of coffee behind the counter and greeted her with a smile. "Morning, [Y/N/N]. How are you this morning?"

She slumped in the chair, looking at him with an accidental glare. "'I only wanna be here when she's gone'," She sighed, placing her head down on the counter in her arms. "Why does he have to fucking be with her?"

Steve sighed, placing his mug down as he leaned against the counter. "Language," He muttered to which she apologized before he continued. "I know it's not fun," He looked at her with a tilted head. "Do you want to move rooms? I'm sure Tony would gladly change things around."

She shook her head. "No, but thanks. It hurts that he's with her, but I know that's stupid to complain about. He's happy, so I should be happy for him."

Loki awoke to a door slamming, his arms unwrapping from the woman he called his girlfriend. He sat up and sighed, knowing who the noise came from. [Y/N] hadn't been well for the past month and he wasn't sure why, but it worried him. His girlfriend rubbed her eyes with a yawn and smiled at him. "Good morning, my Prince," She lifted her head to kiss him but he seemed to pull away from her, his mind focused on [Y/N]. The woman laying beside him sighed. "What's wrong?"

He shook his head, giving her half a smile. "Nothing," He lied as she sat up and pulled away from him. "Darling, I am fine, just a little tired," He stood up from his bed, putting clothing on his body with a simple shift. "Would you care for a cup of tea? I'm going to grab one for myself." The woman shook her head almost with disgust. He nodded without a smile, opening the door to walk towards the kitchen. The only two people that were there were Steve and [Y/N]. "Good morning," He spoke to the two of them as he moved to the cabinet for a mug. "How are you two doing?"

"'I'm bored'," [Y/N] mumbled, getting up from her chair. "I'll see you later, Steve." Loki turned to the super soldier in question.

"Is she alright? She seems awfully down lately," He asked.

Steve sighed. "I think she 'just wants to be out of the picture' right now," Loki gave him a confused look. "She'll be ok later on." He nodded and once the water was hot enough, the God made his tea and left without another word.

He didn't see [Y/N] until the next day. He had passed her as they 'crossed paths by the bathroom' and he gave her a kind smile. "Hi, [Y/N]," He tried to be cheerful. "How are you?" She rolled her eyes as she shoved past. "Dear, what's-"

"Don't call me that," She grumbled, stopping once she saw his girlfriend standing in the hallway. "Just don't talk to me, got it?" He was quiet, completely hurt. His girlfriend walked towards him, but he seemed to ignore her as he called back to [Y/N].

"Talk to me, what's wrong? How can I fix this?" He was aware he was sounding desperate, but she was the closest person to him. He was even closer to her than his own girlfriend.

She shook her head, storming off to Stark's lab. "You can fix this by never talking to me again." His girlfriend rolled her eyes, pulling the stunned God to his bedroom.

Days had gone by and he didn't see [Y/N]. He knew she told him to never talk to her, but he couldn't ignore her. It kept him distracted, and he was worried. There was a knock at his door and with small excitement, he opened it. His smile slightly dropped though because the only person that stood behind the door was his girlfriend.

"I hope you don't mind me stopping by a bit earlier," She smirked. "I couldn't wait." He watched as she strolled over to him, placing her hands on his lean yet well-defined chest. He smiled down to her, resting his hands gently around her waist, trying to push the thoughts of [Y/N] out of his mind. All his efforts were of no use.

His girlfriend had pushed him onto his bed with a kiss that got heated very quickly. She tugged at his shirt, so he obediently removed it and watched as she did the same with hers. She straddled him and kissed him hard before moving lower to his jaw, her hands pressed against his chest still. He hummed with pleasure, his eyes closed.

She smirked, bringing her lips down to his, her hips moved against his, making him moan. However, the name he moaned was not his girlfriend's; it was "[Y/N]" that left his lips instead. The woman stopped, sitting up and away from him. "What?" She angrily asked, her teeth clenched together.

"My dear," Loki sighed, his eyes wide with something along the side of fear. "I didn't mean it. I-"

The woman stood up from the bed, grabbing her belongings. "There's no excuse good enough for that," She grumbled, before sharply letting out an irritated laugh. "I should've known, too, with all those looks towards her. Of course, you would be in love with her."

"Darling, please-" He stood up, walking towards her, but what could he say. She was right and he only realized that now. He wasn't in love with the woman that stood in front of him; his love was for [Y/N].

"Don't you dare do that, you asshole!" Her jaw was clenched shut. "I'm going to leave and you will never see me again." Tossing her shirt back on, she grabbed her purse and left the room, slamming the door behind her. He stood there for a moment, shifting where he stood to get dressed. He sighed and left his room, walking just to the door over. He knocked and opened the door. [Y/N] was on her bed with earbuds in. When she saw him standing in the doorway, she huffed and took them out.

"What do you want?" [Y/N] muttered bitterly. "You know, 'the walls are way too thin'. Did you come to rub it in that you're enjoying yourself fucking her?" She didn't care anymore if he knew she liked him. She was angry and sick of it.

He didn't speak, he only walked into the room upon closing the door behind him. She knitted her eyebrows together in question, sitting up to face him. Without warning, he held her face in his hands and placed his lips onto hers. She didn't kiss back at first but eventually gave into it. He pulled away, his forehead against hers.

She pulled herself away from him and sat on the other side of the bed. "Why did you do that?" She scanned his face for any sort of explanation. "You have a girlfriend." He looked down, biting his lip in thought.

He shook his head. "No," His eyes wandered back up to her, and only then could she see he was rather hurt. "We parted ways."

"I just heard you two-" She started and he shook his head with a slightly sad smile.

"No," He murmured. "We were going to, yes, but we didn't. We both realized that I wasn't in love with her and she left."

Her expression softened. "Oh," She looked away from him. "I'm sorry."

"No need to apologize," He kindly smiled. "She made me realize how much I'm in love with you," [Y/N] looked up with wide eyes. He carefully took her hand in his. "I'm sorry for wasting my time and being with her instead. You are truly the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen and it would be my honor to be able to court you."

She didn't know what to say. Was she dreaming? Was this even real? He patiently waited for the girl to say something, but after a few moments of silence, he looked down. His hand let go of hers and he stood up with an upset smile. She quickly stood up and pulled him to her, her lips colliding with his.

"Is that a yes then?" He chuckled into the kiss and she nodded.

"Yes, it's a yes," He kissed her again, lifting her up oh so easily and taking a seat on her bed with her sitting in his lap. "I'm in love with you too."
