Timeline: 2017, after Ragnarok
• • • • •Of course, during one of the hottest weeks of the year was when Tony decided to have a "team meeting" in one of his many beachside mansions. She wasn't complaining, as she would gladly have lived in the lavish residence permanently. The heat was just annoying and frankly absolutely absurd.
She lay in her bed practically stripped of all clothing except for a tank top and her underwear, the blankets pushed towards the bottom by her feet as she tried to fall asleep whilst listening to the waves crash on the shore close by. She was lucky enough to get the bed to herself since Natasha ended up spending the nights in Dr. Banner's room and offered to give up her room so she didn't have to share one.
She flipped onto her back, staring up at the ceiling. Besides her, the door gently opened. "[Y/N]?" It was Loki. She sat up, barely seeing his outline in the darkness. "Would it be alright if I spent the night in here? Thor snores very loudly."
The relationship between her and the God of Mischief was rather complicated. She lusted for him but feared he would reject her, and little to her knowledge, he lusted for her but thought the same. The two became great friends rather quickly and their feelings blossomed the same. To all of the others, they seemed to already be a couple. The way they both looked at each other: it was full of love. If they couldn't find [Y/N], the first place they would go is wherever Loki was and almost all of the time she would be there. Most nights, the two would be sitting on the couch with a boatload of sweets and a movie playing. They were practically perfect for each other but they couldn't see it.
"Yeah," She spoke. "Of course." She scooted over and he walked closer after closing the door. He gently sat down on the bed, giving her a kind smile.
"My dear," He smirked. "Are you not wearing any pants?"
She felt herself blushing and yanked the covers quickly over herself. "I was very hot." She muttered.
"You're not just hot, darling, you're absolutely ravishing," Loki winked which caused her to roll her eyes. "Perhaps I can cool you down though," She squinted her eyes in question as she saw his hands turn blue. "Come here, I'm not going to hurt you, I promise." She hesitated for a moment then decided to move close to him. She felt a sudden coldness across her waist and she jumped, sitting up.
"My Gods," She looked at him. "I didn't realize frost giants were made of pure ice." He chuckled, resting his head on the pillow, facing her. Carefully, she laid back down next to him. This time when his hands found their way to her skin, it was a simple cooling feeling. Without thinking, her head moved towards his chest where she rested it, more cool feeling felt even through his shirt.
"Is that better?" He quietly asked. She moved her head to look up at him. His blue eyes gleamed.
"Yes," She closed her eyes, seeming to snuggle closer to him. "Thank you," She felt his arms wrap tighter around her as he tensed. "Is it ok if I'm this close?"
"Yes, darling," He mumbled. "I'm just taking at this moment because I know it won't last."
"What do you mean?" She opened her eyes and lifted her head so she could see his face. He squeezed his mouth shut, letting go of her. "Loki, what did you mean by that?"
"If I had the chance to stay here with you forever, I'd sacrifice anything for it," His voice was quiet and he couldn't meet her eyes. "But I know that the sun will rise and we will go our separate ways, back to just friends," He gulped. "But frankly, I don't want that. I've been incredibly attracted to you for a while now, even when I try not to be and-" He stopped and looked at her as she softly took both of his hands and placed them back on her waist. "What are you doing?"
"If this is what I think it is, you don't have to continue," She smiled. "I like you too."
He pulled her close to him and pressed his lips onto hers, his arms making themselves comfortable around her frame. He broke the kiss after a few moments and carefully pulled her back to his chest. "You are perfect, [Y/N]," He kissed the top of her head. "Now get some sleep, my darling."
She smiled, closing her eyes as she drifted asleep. Something about having the young woman in his arms that night comforted him and he fell asleep much faster than usual.
The next morning the two awoke when the sunlight poured into their room. It was such a glorious sight for him seeing her still lying beside him; he was worried it would all be a dream. She smiled at him and placed a kiss on his lips.
"Good morning, my love," He smiled, pulling her back to him.
"Good morning," She spoke with a yawn. "How'd you sleep?"
"Fantastic," He kissed her forehead. "I don't think I've ever slept that well before."
"Then I guess we'll just have to make this a normal thing." She smiled in response.
