19. Bennifer 2.0

Jen's POV
For the past couple of weeks I've been hanging out with Ben a lot, we're having a lot of fun together and I'm enjoying spending time with him.

Being around him makes me forget about all my current problems, we haven't talked much about Alex and I know he doesn't ask me anything about it, because he doesn't want to see me being sad or worried, but he knows most of what happened because of what he has seen on tv and some little things I've told him.

Also, even if I've been seeing Ben for around two weeks I haven't told my kids yet, they were so attached to Tashi and Ella that I don't know what they'll think about me dating somebody else and having new step siblings because Ben has already 3 kids with Jennifer Gardner; Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.

Although Max and Emme don't know I'm seeing Ben, they probably suspect it anyways, but they don't ask questions about it.

I guess I'll just tell them now that we're all home. I waited for dinner time to tell them the news.

Jen: Kids, I have some news.

Emme: Ughh, finally you've decided to tell us.

Max: So, who are you dating?

Jen: First, sorry for not telling you guys before, I wanted to make sure if I really wanted to be in a relationship so it wouldn't be confusing for you both.

Emme: It's okay, we understand that but, who are you dating?

Jen: Ben Affleck. I know this may sound a little bad but I dated him a long time ago, but things have changed since then, and we both can tell there's still a genuine love there, now we both have kids, we have been married, divorced, so we have a lot of things in common, and we understand and know each other very well so we kinda picked up where we left off.

Max: Wait...so, you're dating Batman?

Jen: Haha, if you wanna think about it that way...then yes?

I'm not surprised with Max's reaction, he always finds something funny to say effortlessly.

Emme: Well, Max and I have noticed that you always come home really happy which is a good sign, so if you're happy then it's okay ma. But hold on, let me google him because I wanna know who is my mom sleeping with.

Jen: Emme! Haha, okay, whatever, I'm happy that you guys took this good.

Max: But I'm not gonna lie to you, it feels a little weird because I was used to be around Alex, Tashi, and Ella, and now we'll have new step siblings but, we'll get used to seeing you with Ben so it's okay.

Emme: Yeah, I feel the same way but you're right, we'll get used to it. I prefer mom being with someone who makes her happy and who's faithful to her than being with...well, Alex.

Jen: I know it may be hard for you two to get used to mommy dating another guy and it's okay, I'm not asking you to automatically like Ben, so I understand if you guys are not completely sure about my relationship.

Max: Are we going to meet him?

Jen: That's up to you guys, I won't pressure you to meet him yet if you are not sure.

Emme: I wanna meet him.

Max: Me too, we have to approve that he's a good guy first.

Jen: Haha, okay,

(2 days later at Jen's house)

Ben just arrived and met my kids, we didn't plan out this day very well so I didn't expect Ben to show up with his 3 kids.

I'm nervous about meeting Ben's kids because I wasn't mentally prepared for this but I put my best smile on my face anyway.

Max and Emme looked at me thinking that I forgot to tell them we were going to meet Ben's kids, but not even I knew that.

Anyways, now we're all sitting on the couch talking and the kids are getting to know each other and everything seems to be going great.

Jen: Baby, can I talk to you for a second?

Ben: Oh, Okay, sure.

We went to my room so the kids won't hear this conversation.

Jen: Why didn't you tell me I was meeting your kids today? Don't get me wrong, I don't have any problem with meeting your kids but, I would have appreciated a little warning that this was happening.

Ben: I just thought that since I was going to meet your kids, you were going to meet mine. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have just assumed that.

He kisses me, trying to remedy this misunderstanding.

I keep going with the kiss and we end up making out for several minutes.

Then, Max storms into the room, he saw me making out with Ben but didn't care about it.

Max: Mom! You have to come, it's urgent.

Jen: What's going on baby?

He looks at me really worried and scared.

We go to the living room where the other 4 kids are looking worried at the TV.

Ben and I get closer to see what was going on and Emme turns the volume up...Alex just escaped from jail.
