15. Something changed...

Emme's POV

It has been 2 days since Max disappeared and my mom has been freaking out and being extra paranoid with me, Tashi, and Ella, I understand her, I've been pretty scared and worried lately too.

My mom doesn't know but I've been trying to find out where is Max and I've been listening and studying everything my family or anyone who's around me does and says.

And I know it sounds like I'm just being paranoid but actually now I have realized something was odd with Alex...

I know what I'm thinking is kinda crazy but I have some proof to believe it could be true, since Alex met my mom he's been supportive and when all that stuff with Beau began to happen he was even more supportive but after the last accident something felt a little odd in him, he was more distant and he's always late from work.

About being late from work, he always says it's because he has a lot of work to do and bla bla bla, some weeks ago I was talking about that with Max and he told me he thought Alex was cheating on mom but I knew it wasn't that and now that Max disappeared everything makes sense.

I was thinking of telling Tashi and Ella but I don't know how they'll react, I mean, it's their dad who are we talking about. I don't want them to get mad at me but I can't just keep this to myself and I don't want to tell my mom because I don't want her to worry about more things now.

So now I just called Tashi and Ella to tell them about Alex, I hope they don't get mad at me, I just know something is wrong with him and I don't know who I can talk to.

Ella: So what's going on? Why did you call us?

Emme: Since Max disappeared I've been trying to find out what could've happened and searching for answers to know what and why did all of this happened to my brother and I realized that somebody has been a little suspicious lately. Now, what I'm going to say may sound crazy, and please don't get mad at me but I think that Alex may have something to do with Max's disappearance.

Tashi: What?!

Ella: Emme are you crazy?!

Emme: I know it's crazy and it's pretty big what I'm saying but I have reasons to think that he can have something to do with all of this.

Ella: Emme, it's my dad who are you talking about. What in hell makes you believe that he can do something as horrible as helping kidnap his stepson?!

Tashi: How can you say something like that? What makes you believe he could do that?

Emme: Guys, I'm sorry, but look, I have proof. I've noticed that Alex has been more distant since that car accident a year ago, he barely talks about Beau around my mom and if somebody is talking about Beau he always changes the subject, also he's late from work, I mean, you can be late from work a couple of days...but ONE COMPLETE YEAR almost without missing a day being late...I don't know what you guys think but for me, that is enough proof.

Tashi: You're crazy

Ella: It can make sense but my dad is not capable of doing something like that.

Emme: Well, the only way of really knowing what is your dad capable of doing is investigating more.

Tashi: No no no, no Emme, you're not continuing this stupid "investigation", it's nonsense, what makes you think that he could do this to Jen after being almost 2 years together? Sorry, but I'm not helping with this. Ella let's go, I don't want to stay with someone who thinks my dad is practically a psycho.

Ella: Actually...I think Emme could be right, I know it's crazy but she has some proof and we don't really know, and we both know our dad is not the most innocent person on the planet.

Tashi: Are you kidding me, Ella? It's OUR DAD. How can you think he could do that?... You both are crazy, I'm leaving. And don't tell Jen about this, it's stupid and non-sense.

She just left her room, pack her stuff, and called her mom to pick her up. I didn't expect Tashi to react like that and for sure I did not expect Ella to agree with what is said.

Emme: Do you really believe it could be true?

Ella: Maybe, i hope it's not true of course, but it makes sense, he's always late from work and he never talks about Beau, some days ago i asked my dad about Beau and he completely ignored me, and I know he listened to me, and know it makes more sense to me.

Emme: So you're gonna help me find out if Alex is part of this and what happened to Max?

Ella: Yes. Should we tell Jen?

Emme: I don't know. At least not yet, I don't want her to be worrying about more stuff right now, she's going through enough, maybe when we have more proof we can do something about it and tell my mom.

Ella: Oh, I think my dad just got home, I'm going to my bedroom, we have to be careful about this, we don't want anyone to find out okay?

Emme: Okay.
