Ava handed Jenny a dark blue apron. Jenny's eyes lit looking at it.
“Ava! This is so beautiful!!” Jenny gushes looking at it. She looks at her name stitched in golden thread. It was really beautiful.
“Glad that you like it dear! Jacob stitched the name for you. Thank him!” Ava smiles.
“He did?” Jenny asks, surprised.
“Yes! That boy is really helpful! He even stayed after working hours to do this. I'm glad to have him.” Ava smiles, proud of him. Jenny smiles too.
*He's really good at this!* She thinks as she looks at her name.
“What are you both talking about?”
Both of them turn to look at Jacob entering the shop.
“Hi Jacob! Good morning!” Ava smiles.
He hugs her and wishes her.
He then looks at Jenny.
“Hey Jenny! How are you?”
“I'm good!” She smiles at him.
*The whole place became happier when he came*
“Kids, I have some errands to do today. So I won't be here for the whole day. Jacob, teach Jenny everything she needs to know and Jenny, all the best! Now I'll get going!” Ava hugs both of them and leaves the shop.
There is silence.
*Should I start speaking?*
*What will you say?*
*Umm….hi?*
*HI?! Why hi?? Are you crazy!*
*I've never spoken to a guy! I've always been bullied by them!* Jenny winces at the thought.
*Ahh why did I remember that?! Everything was going so well so far!*
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. She didn't want to cry. Not today. She wanted to be happy on her first day. She will not let her bullies invade her mind.
“Is everything alright Jenny?”
She opens her eyes to see Jacob looking at her, worried.
“Yea, everything's good.” She smiled at him.
He walks close to her and wipes her tears.
*I cried?*
He pulls her in for a hug and pats her back.
“Don't worry. Everything will be alright.” His deep voice sends shivers through her spine. She nods into the hug. He pulls back and smiles.
“Thank you.”
Jacob looks at her.
“For what?”
“For the stitching and for helping me.” Jenny smiles.
“Don't mention it. I'm here for you.” He places his hand on her shoulder and smiles.
*Now that's a one-million-dollar smile!*
*Shut up.*
“Let me show you around!” He holds her hand and takes her to the counter. The cash register was at the right and the left side was used to make the bouquets. There were three shelves in the shop, making it look like a mini supermarket. All gardening materials were on the shelves. One could find everything he needed for gardening here.
