Jenny wakes up.She was on her bed. The room was dark. What happened? She looks around her and her eyes widen. Jasper sat on the bed next to her. He was watching her. She couldn't read the look on his face. She blinks.
“Jas. Is this a dream?” She asks him.
“Nope. It's not a dream. You're awake.”
“Huh?”
He flicks her forehead. She yelps in pain.
“Oww! What was that for?!” She yells. He glares at her.
“You idiot! Are you crazy?! How dare you?! Why did you do it?!” He yells at her. She looks at him, confused. He points to her left hand. She looks at it. She sees the bandage on her arm.
“Ohh..” She looks at it in realisation.
The door opens as Jasper was about to yell at her again. Jeff walks in with a bowl of chips in his hand. His eyes widen as he sees his sister awake. He immediately places the bowl on a table and hugs her.
“Oh my god! Oh my goodness! Chocolate, you're finally awake!!! Thank the heavens!! Are you okay? Feeling any pain?” He rambles.
“Relax Jeff. I'm fine! I'm alright!” Jenny giggles.
“Ahh! Thank God you're alright!” He sighs in satisfaction as he smiles at her. The smile suddenly disappeared as he became angry. He smacks her shoulder.
“Oww! What's wrong with you?!” She yells.
“You dumb girl?! Why did you cut your hand!! You know how worried I was?! You almost died!! If we hadn't changed into humans, you would've died!!” He punches her shoulder, playfully. Jenny laughs as she gets up and hides behind Jasper to escape her brother's wrath. Jasper laughs as he blocks Jeff.
“Jas let her go!” Jeff playfully warns.
“She's okay now! Stop! Jenny apologise to your brother before he kills you!” He exclaims, laughing.
“Okay! Okay! Fine! I'm so sorry Jeff. I promise I will not do it again.” She giggles and Jeff calms down.
Jasper picks Jenny from behind him and places her on his lap. Jenny gasps as she looks up at him.
“Woah Jasper! You're so strong!” She exclaims.
“I'm a grim reaper! Duh!” He shrugs. Jeff nods.
“Yeah of course...by the way? Why did y'all come here? Weren't we supposed to meet in my dreams?” She asks. There was silence for a while. Jasper answers.
“When we found you, you were bleeding a lot. And someone had to treat you. But your mom and Ben weren't at home. So we came instead.” Jasper tells her.
“They're not home?”
“No. They left the house ten minutes after your fight.”
Jenny tensed. She looks at both of them.
“Y'all saw what happened?”
“We were there from the beginning, Chocolate. I'm sorry this is happening to you...”
“It's okay…well, now that they know about this...I can show my distaste openly…. ugh..” She groans. Jasper pats her head.
“Ugh...I wish I had died... I don't want to live..” She looks down.
“Why?” Jasper asks her.
“Everything is so hard, Jas...my mom cheating and my bullies….i don't know why everyone hate me...I don't want to be hated! I didn't do anything wrong! I feel like I'm just surviving the day. It feels like hell. If I die...I can join you two...we can be happy like this...” Tears rolled down her cheeks.
Jeff comes closer to her and lifts her chin up. He looks her in the eye.
“Listen Chocolate. If you are to die, you will die when the time comes okay? Until then, I want you to live, not survive. I want you to love and to be loved. I want you to explore. I want you to live, Chocolate. I want you to live life. Don't end it. You will regret it. If you die now, think of the people who love you. Think of dad. Think of mom, she still loves you. Think of Jacob!”
At the mention of Jacob, Jenny blushes. Jeff and Jasper give her a teasing smile.
“What would have happened if he found out you died?! He'd be devastated!” Jasper exclaims.
“I don't think so….”
“Chocolate! Are you blind?! Can't you see? The boy is head over heels for you! And you too! Confess already!” Jeff laughs.
She blushes even more.
*Jacob likes me?*
“Well….I don't know….I'm going to sleep..I should wake up early tomorrow.” She gets off Jasper's lap and lies down.
“Oh yeah! Jacob said he'll pick you up!” Jeff teases her. She punches him and turns away, whining.
“Don't tease her!” Jasper smacks his head, making Jenny laugh.
“Yo! It's not everyday that I get to tease her!” He whines.
“Ugh! You're so annoying!” She groans.
“Okay! Now I'm sleepy! Let's cuddle!!” Jenny yells, trying to change the topic. And it sure works.
The two agree as they lie down next to her. They had to stop anyway. Jeff pulls her close to him. Jasper gently pats both their heads.
“Ahh this feels so good!!” Jeff smiles. They all agree.
“Sleep now children.” Jasper turns the lights off.
Slowly they all drift to sleep, cuddling each other. There was one thought that ran in Jenny's mind.
*Jacob's going to kill me when he sees my cut.*
*Damn.*
