Jenny sits on the floor next to the door and pulls her knees to her chest. She tries hard to muffle her sobs. She was shaking.
Daniel knows. Daniel knows where she works now. She still couldn't forget the hatred in his eyes when he saw her. He tried to grab her hand but she pulled it away, her hand hitting the countertop and wounding her cut more. He smirked when he saw her in pain. But it faded when Jacob walked in.
“Tell him anything and watch what I'll do to you..” He whispers.
She nodded as she handed him his rose.
“Smile you brat!” He whispers.
She puts on a smile, still shaking from fear.
Thank goodness Jacob came at the right time. He must have noticed something since he sent her in.
She also noticed that Jacob and Daniel are friends. She didn't want to tell Jacob about Daniel. She didn't want to get into more trouble. She wanted to have a peaceful summer. She cries as she puts her head down, tired of everything.
Jacob slowly opens the door to the lounge. It was empty. Panic rises within him as he looks around but it fades as soon as he sees her on the ground, hugging her knees and crying.
His heart broke seeing her like this. Her cries hurt him. He walks over to her and sits next to her. She still didn't notice. He was about to hug her but he noticed her arm. It was bleeding. His eyes widen in shock and his mind goes blank.
*Jacob! Snap out of your thoughts!*
He blinks his eyes as he immediately takes Jenny's hands. She looks up at him.
He pulls her up.
“Go sit on the counter.” He orders. She nods as she quietly hops on the counter. Jacob opens a cabinet and takes out the first aid box. He sets it beside her and takes her hand in his. He gently removes her bandage. Jenny closes her eyes, not wanting to see his reaction. He might probably be disgusted. She internally sighs.
She hears a gasp. And then there's silence. She doesn't want to open her eyes. A hand lifts her chin up.
“Chocolate. Open your eyes.”
She shakes her head. She didn't want to. She didn't want to see the hate and disgust. No.
“Chocolate. Please open your eyes and look at me. Please.” He whispers, his voice shaky.
*Why is his voice shaky?!* she immediately opens her eyes in worry.
Her eyes widened in surprise. Jacob was crying?!
Tears just flowed from his eyes. He cried as he looked at her hand which was bleeding. The wound was opened again. Was he crying because of that? Something happened to her when she saw him cry. She felt her heart break into pieces. It was shattering. She then decided that she never wanted to see him cry. Never.
With her right hand, she silently wipes his tears away.
“Why are you crying?” She softly asks, even though she knew the answer
“Please don't cut yourself Chocolate. Please. Do you know how much it hurts me? It freaking breaks my heart! It hurts seeing you like this and I couldn't even be there for you! I feel so useless!” He says, tears flowing from his cheeks. He couldn't stop it.
Jenny looks at him in shock. He was crying for her? Her mind went blank. She couldn't think. The only thing that went on and on in her mind was the fact that Jacob was crying for her.
*He loves you. He cares for you. Don't be freaking blind.* Jeff's words ring in her head. She looks at him as she caresses his face.
“Please don't cry...” She softly pleads, wiping his tears away. He looks away as he takes a piece of cotton and wipes her cut. Jenny couldn't take her eyes off him. He looked so beautiful. He was so focused that he didn't realise the little pout he had on. Cute, she thinks.
After wiping her wound, he applies an ointment and Jenny hisses. It hurt.
“So sorry! I'll be more gentle...” He whispers as he continues to apply the ointment. He had stopped crying now.
“No it's okay. Don't worry..” She smiles at him. He looks up at her as he bandages her cut.
“What are you smiling for?” He looks at her in amusement.
“Thank you.”
“For what?” He chuckles.
“For being so worried about me… for taking care of me, being there for me...you know? No one cares about me. It's just you and my brothers. And now, I don't care anymore. As long as I have you three by my side, I don't care about anything else. And I don't want to see you cry anymore Jacob, it hurts me...so I won't hurt myself anymore. I promise. I want to see you happy.” She smiles at him.
He pulls her into a hug. She hugs him back as she wraps her hands around him. He pats her head gently and it calms her down. She smiles in satisfaction. It felt so good. She didn't want to let go. She felt safe, protected. She felt that nothing will touch her when she's with him. She felt happy and after a long time, content.
“Hmmm it feels so good!” Jenny sighs.
“Don't want to let go huh?” Jacob chuckles while patting her head gently.
“Nope!” She hugs him tighter and they stay like that in happiness until the front door bursts open.
“Chocolate! Jacob!! Where are you guys?!”
