I still have a few days to go before going back to work, it would have been nice to go on holiday while on leave but my finances are not to be messed with. I had a birthday solo trip in Kimberly a month ago and yet to financially recover.

Since my leave started, I've read 4 books and recorderd 6 videos for my channel, meaning I'm good with content for the next 3 months.
Noxolo hasn't kept in touch while in France and has extended her stay there.

Everyone else is occupied with work since it's late July. Most people don't just take two weeks off work randomly so I decided to drive to KwaNyuswa and see my family.

I'm usually annoyed within 2 days, with my uncle always coming home drunk or asking for change to buy cigarettes and there's always something broken.
Last it was a window and a door handle.
This time it's the whole TV set
It cracked and only shows the spectrum colours now.
Malume was drunk (shock) and climbed on top of the room divider looking for something. He broke gogo's fancy dinners sets and glassware that she had kept for guests (no guest was ever good enough to have them actually used).

They didn't tell me at the time it happened because I'd recently sent money home for groceries and enough to fix the window and door handle.

So here I am now at Hillcrest, shopping for a new Tv and stand that I hadn't budgeted for.
In all honestly I'd be punishing gogo who spends her days watching Telenovela's, Bolly and Nollywood movies.

Some of the aunties from the village come to the house to watch tv with her because some are yet to get satellite tv or one that has as many channels as she does.
As the general rule of black tax, I've been emotionally blacked mailed into buying the TV.

My phone rings again, it's the same number I've been ignoring for a week now.
I had to switch my phone off for 2 days since I've been getting calls from my bank.
It's for my policies and debit orders that were messed up when my accounts were mysteriously frozen for 3 days.
It reversed debits that went off as far back as 3 months ago.

I bank with 3 different banks and weirdly enough all 3 of them had the same issue but no other client of the banks experienced it.
I was frustrated yes, but also scared, I just hope no one has used my ID for fraudulent stuff causing the whole mess The banks assured me, it was their mistake.
Mabutho Bank even compensated me with R5000 for the inconvenience, same money I'm now using to buy the tv and a few things for the house before I go.

The calls are mostly about reversed debit orders that the banks assured me, would be sorted out.
I take this call because I've worked in a call centre and know these people won't stop until they get a hold of me.

"hello I'm a bit busy please call after 6" I dismissively tell the person before they even say hello. They never call after 6

"Ms Lesedi, I'm Thandeka calling from MH Holdings, we've been trying to get a hold of you for over a week now.
The interview was a success and Mr Mzimela would like you to come in to discuss your contract" the monotone lady says, sounding frustrated

I remember thinking she looked mean when I went in for the interview. Wait...what does she mean I got the job? I've made peace with not getting it

"That won't be necessary, I'm no longer interested. Thank you" and I hang up immedietly

It's rude yes but she too was previously rude to me.
I know it was Nsizwa's idea to give me the job, given that he's the one that interviewed me.
Beside the other brother being rude, the job description sounds tiresome.
The more I thought of it, the more I realised that not getting the job was a blessing.
Currently I work 8-4 at the insurance company, attend evening classes 3 times a week and whenever low on cash, I drive people around.
I'm still able to read 1 book every 2 weeks and record content for my channel.
The job requires I'm on call 24hrs including weekends and occasionally travel with the EXCO members which is the 3 Mzimela brothers and their head of Legal
The goal is to be self employed with 2 published books by the time I'm 35 so I can't afford to take a job that requires so much of my time.
